OUR Thoughts on Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows
Four stand-alone bungalows beside each other, each one with a restful view of the beach, the lagoon sanctuary and the ocean beyond. Previously known as Matenga’s Beach Bungalows and now operated by Natura Holiday Homes, each bungalow is so close to the beach you can hear the water lapping the shore when the tide is in. On the land side you are less than 200 metres from Palm Grove’s famous Yellow Hibiscus Restaurant and easy walking distance to Wigmore’s Super Store where you’ll find a whole range of groceries, bread etc.
Over the years, a nice little community has sprung up around this location which now includes as well as Yellow Hibiscus, The Vaima Restaurant, Coco Latte, an arts and crafts store and a health and beauty clinic as well as road-side stalls servicing the passing traffic as well as several local holiday homes and boutique resorts. The beach in this vicinity is long, clean and white and a great way to access the various facilities on offer. Sunsets over the lagoon can be spectacular.
The air-conditioned Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows are all open plan “studio” style with plenty of space for both sleeping and living. Each bungalow has a furnished veranda deck. The tariff includes a service with linen change and gardening every 3 days, free local telephone calls and the use of snorkelling equipment and kayaks.
Individually, the bungalows are ideal for couples, and booked together are perfect for an extended family group or for up to 4 couples travelling together. When booking all four bungalows for a minimum 5 nights, one night is provided free. (See “Our Specials” below).

Accommodation Arrangements
Each (80m²) Bungalow is a spacious open-plan studio with the living room (including a kitchenette with stove and microwave oven) and bedroom in the one space. Linen is supplied and housekeeping services are provided every 3 days. The bathroom has a vanity, shower and toilet.

General note re a holiday home stay.
Individual holiday homes offer widely differing standards and specifications as to what is included and the services which are available to guests taking this accommodation option. As a general rule, a holiday home is a private citizen’s private residence or holiday place and, unlike a stay at a resort, a manager or owner may not be available on-site. However, the owner (or an agent of the owner) may be available to sort out any problems or maintenance issues encountered (and visits by neighbours’ dogs and chickens!!) In the case of Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows, this property comprises 4 individual beach bungalows which are all serviced and holiday let by one Cook Islands company. The benefit to you of this arrangement is that not only do home cleaning and linen changes happen every 3 days, but round-the-clock maintenance support is on hand in case of malfunctions.
It is sensible to maintain a reasonable level of security and to keep up a personal insect repellent program.
Getting to and from Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows
The Natura people have a very good system for arriving and departing guests. Their contracted driver will be at the airport to meet arriving guests. The driver will have access to the keys to the property and after providing the transfer to the property, will open up and give a short orientation of the bungalow, its features and facilities. The driver will call again at the completion of your stay and transfer you back to the airport on departure.
Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows are perfectly located for a great holiday stay. There is a handily placed small road-side dairy/grocery nearby and Wigmore’s Superstore (groceries, takeaways, etc) is only approximately 700 along the road. The pleasant little Yellow Hibiscus Restaurant at Palm Grove is only 200 metres away. Both Vaima Restaurant and Bar and Café Latte are within 700 metres and Moana Restaurant a mere 1km away. From the location of Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows, you are almost exactly halfway around the island from Avarua (the main town), so, it’s approximately 16km to town either via Muri Lagoon one way or via Arorangi in the clockwise direction. The Round-Island Bus runs both ways every hour during the day.
Night Restaurant Bus:
Every day except Sunday and Public Holidays, a bus operates clockwise every hour between 6:00pm and 11:00pm. This is a perfect way for guests at Natura Kamana Beach Bungalow to get to any restaurant on the island. The bus stops at on demand at approximately 25 minutes past the hour.
Kids Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at Natura Kamana Beach Bungalows. However the bedding configuration of 1 King Bed in each bungalow, means the property is probably best suited to couples or singles.

Full payment is required at least 60 days prior to scheduled arrival date.
Resort Cancellation Policies
COVID-19 Related Policies
● All cancellations must be made in writing
● Bookings that are impacted by Government border restrictions or ill health (medical certificate essential), resulting from Covid-19 are eligible for free date changes or a full refund without cancellation or amendment fees.
● All date changes and cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival. 100% cancellation fees apply if within 48 hours.
Special conditions for Non-Refundable Bookings:
● On the rare occasion that a special rate includes a clause which states that a particular booking is based on a non-refundable rate, such bookings are eligible for free date changes only; cancellation and refunds are not permitted.
● All date changes must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
Standard Cancellation Policy
● All cancellations must be made in writing
● Cancellations made outside 60 days of travel – no fee
● Cancellations made between 45 and 60 days of scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
● Cancellations made between 30 and 44 days of scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
● Cancellations made within 29 days of scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
● Guests who fail to show on the scheduled date of arrival and guests who depart prior to scheduled departure date are charged 100% of the cost of the accommodation booked but not utilised.
