OUR Thoughts on Manuia Beach Resort, Arorangi, Rarotonga.
There is a fine sandy beach fronting a natural coral lagoon with the sea reef close enough for guests to hear the sounds of the ocean breaking on the reef and to clearly see the passing whales during the whale migration season. The sunsets over the reef are nothing short of spectacular. The Resort’s nice, big, sandy beach-front terrace which contains the horizon swimming pool, lovely wooden decks and the well-named “On The Beach” Restaurant & Bar with its sand floor, melds almost seamlessly with the beach. This area is an idyllic setting for a wedding. Manuia Beach Resort’s 24 accommodation units are all located on slightly raised land approximately 2 metres above the beach terrace.

The OTB (On the Beach) Restaurant & Bar and the beach terrace is the focal point of this resort. The Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and an optional half board and a full board meal plan is available for pre-purchase. Lunch may be enjoyed in the restaurant or taken outside to the pool deck. At the beat of the Cook Islands drum, guests gather for Manuia Beach’s famous Happy Hour. On offer is an A la carte menu as well as a daily 3-course special dinner which changes each night. The sand-floor restaurant overlooks the lagoon and reef, and has a fantastic atmosphere and the food is excellent.
Manuia Beach Resort is all about relaxation and recharging. Their policy of not catering for guests under the age of 16 years ensures a certain level of peace and tranquillity. Kayak and snorkelling gear is provided for guests to explore the lagoon (beach towels provided) and there is a book exchange library. For those guests wanting to keep up to date with world affairs there is a TV lounge on site.

Your Accommodation Options
There are 2 primary accommodation suite options – "Beachfront" or "Premium Garden". Manuia Beach Resort also offers an enhanced stay experience - the option of a "VIP" upgrade in one Premium Garden Suite and one Beachfront Suite. The suite accommodation is all provided in free-standing, thatched duplex units. This means there are no more than 2 units in each of the 12 accommodation buildings. Manuia Beach Resort’s open-plan units are called "Suites" as they are certainly spacious and every suite has plenty of living space as well as a beautiful west-facing veranda deck complete with comfortable deck furniture. Every suite is air-conditioned as well as having flow-through ventilation. All suites in all categories are the same size.
Manuia Beach Resort also offers a 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom Apartment which comprises 2 ensuite bedrooms, a separate lounge, full kitchen and private BBQ.

Premium Garden Suites:
There are 17 of these units scattered along the sand pathways amongst the tropical gardens with their coconut palms, flowering trees and shrubs. Garden Suites are all located in the resort area between the 6 Beachfront Suites and the Resort Reception. Most of the Premium Garden Suites feature the famous Manuia Beach Resort romantic private outdoor shower in an intimate courtyard running off the bathroom, while a limited number retain a totally internal bathroom and these suites may be a good option for those guests preferring a more conservative bathroom arrangement. Two or three of the Premium Garden Suites have a partial ocean view – being accommodated in one of these is totally the luck of the draw!
There is a 2-nights minimum stay policy for Premium Garden Suites.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A Single Bed can be added for a 3rd adult.
The VIP Premium Garden Suite:
Handy to the beach, the VIP Premium Garden Suite comes with all the new inclusions listed above under “Our Thoughts on Manuia Beach Resort”. The VIP Premium Garden Suite features the famous Manuia Beach Resort walled courtyard shower.
There is a 3-nights minimum stay policy for the VIP Premium Garden Suite.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A Single Bed can be added for a 3rd adult.
Beachfront Suites:
The beachfront suites are located in 3 separate duplex units spread along the beach frontage of the Resort. Each one overlooks the beach terrace pool and beach terrace decks, the beach itself, the lagoon, the ocean reef and the ocean beyond; they are absolute dress-circle for sunsets. There are very few places on Rarotonga providing Resort guests with such an amazing feeling of relaxation and well-being as that enjoyed from the veranda of the Beachfront Suites at Manuia Beach Resort. All the Beachfront Suites at Manuia Beach Resort have been refurbished to a high standard and all feature the Manuia Beach Resort walled courtyard shower.
There is a minimum 3-night stay policy for Beachfront Suites
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A Single Bed can be added for a 3rd adult.
The 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom Apartment:
Located handy to Reception, the 2 Bedroom Apartment offers a full kitchen, an outdoor patio, private BBQ and 2 ensuite bathrooms. Guests in the 2 Bedroom Apartment will look out to palm trees and a peep at the ocean. The main feature is the view of the spectacular sunsets filtering through the palm fronds.
There is a 5-nights minimum stay policy for the 2 Bedroom Apartment.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 Adults
Existing Bedding: A Super King Bed in each bedroom, either or both of which may be split into 2 Single Beds resulting in a maximum 4 separate beds.
Additional Bedding: A Single Bed can be added in the lounge area for the 5th guest.
The VIP Beachfront Suite:
Closest to the beach in the row of beachfront suites, the VIP Beachfront Suite comes with all the new inclusions listed above under “Our Thoughts on Manuia Beach Resort”. VIP Beachfront Suites feature a Super King Bed and yes, the famous Manuia Beach Resort walled courtyard shower.

Kids Policy
Manuia Beach Resort accepts guests aged 16 years and over.
Check-in/Check Out
The Hotel standard check-in/check-out times:
Check-In Time: 2:00pm
Check-Out Time: 10:00am
Early Check-in and Late Check-out
Early check in from 6:00am (when available) costs 50% of the room rate booked. A guaranteed check-in prior to 6:00am requires a full night's pre-registration and payment.
Late Check Out until 6:00pm (when available) attracts a fee of 50% of the occupied room rate. However, all late check-outs are on a request basis only, and cannot be guaranteed by the resort any earlier than 24 hours prior to departure. Late check-out fees are payable direct by guests to the resort.
Early Arriving Flights
We recommend that all guests arriving prior to 6:00am should book and pay for their room from the night before to guarantee access to their room at the time they arrive. Not doing this could result in a wait of around 12 hours to gain entry to your accommodation.
