Our Thoughts on Te Vakaroa
Right in the middle of the action at Muri Beach, Te Vakaroa Villas is a welcome addition to the holiday accommodation options available on the sunrise side of Rarotonga. There are only 6 villas in total which are all in one block and all are a very high standard. The Resort rates their self-contained accommodation and their facilities and services as 5 Star and we certainly can’t argue with that.
There is a lot about this resort and their services that we like; their service starts right at the airport when guests arrive in Rarotonga. For arriving guests, Te Vakaroa includes a personal meet-and-greet at the airport and a personal transfer to the villas. A tropical continental breakfast is included in the tariff and to save guests having the bother of getting out of their villa and going to a restaurant, at Te Vakaroa breakfast is delivered to each villa fresh each morning. For those guests seeking a cooked breakfast, for an additional cost, the ingredients for a do-it-yourself cooked breakfast can be delivered to your villa and there is even the option of a Chef-prepared champagne breakfast in your villa. As for dinner, the ingredients for do-it-yourself barbeque dinners can be provided for guests to cook on the BBQ located by the swimming pool.
Many resorts in Rarotonga include free snorkelling gear and kayaks. At Te Vakaroa, this equipment is provided by a professional operator – Captain Tama’s, which is next door to the Resort. so equipment is plentiful and well maintained and free for Te Vakaroa guests to use.
We like the fact that there is a well-stocked minibar included in the villas, and we are impressed with the very reasonable prices of the stocked items.
If you want personal security while on holiday, Te Vakaroa provides that for you. The property is very secure as access into the grounds and the villas is controlled by key cards.
Sails Restaurant is right beside Te Vakaroa Villas and guests have key card access direct in and out of Sails. There are several other resorts, restaurants, cafes, food-markets etc located within a very short walking distance.
Te Vakaroa has a lovely horizon swimming pool which seems to meld into the lagoon and there is also a heated Jacuzzi spa beside the deck pavilion which houses a wonderful, big day bed. There are plenty of sun-loungers and because there are only 6 villas and because they have a “No children under 12 years of age” policy at the Resort, even when the Resort is fully booked, the pool, the spa, the BBQ and the deck are never crowded.
Your Accommodation Options
On the ground floor Te Vakaroa has three 1 Bedroom Villas. The three 2 Bedroom Villas take up the entire first and second floors. We like the little extras that Te Vakaroa includes in the villas, such things as the reasonably priced minibars dish washers and the iPod docking stations. All accommodation is air-conditioned.

Located on the ground floor just steps away from the horizon pool and the lagoon. The 1 Bedroom Villas are sizeable and modern. The living area of each villa fronts the pool and the bedroom is located in the back of the villa which makes the bedroom nice and quiet. We enjoy the little totally private walled garden off the bedroom. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a full-size fridge/freezer. The Villa also has a clothes washer and dryer. Each of the 3 villas have a beautiful big veranda patio complete with outdoor furniture and each one steps back from the neighbouring villa which provides privacy for all guests.

2 Bedroom Villas
The living area of each of the 2 Bedroom Vilas takes up the entire first floor. The living area comprises the full-size, modern, fully equipped kitchen, the dining suite and the lounge. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the villa. The spacious balcony which overlooks the pool, the beach, the lagoon and the ocean, features a lovely day bed as well as an outdoor settee which is big enough to stretch out on, as well as 2 lounge chairs and a coffee table. Like the 1 Bedroom villas below, each balcony is stepped back to ensure privacy. The 2 ensuite bedrooms are located on the second floor and each has an intimate balcony. The main bedroom faces the lagoon and the second bedroom faces the mountains of Rarotonga’s interior.

Getting to and from Te Vakaroa Villas
We will provide a coach or private car arrival/departure transfer from/to Rarotonga International Airport to Te Vakaroa Villas.
Kids Policy
Children aged 12 years and under are not accepted at the resort.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected between 21-14 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of total accommodation will be levied.
If cancellations are effected within 14 days of scheduled arrival including no shows, a cancellation fee equal to 100% of total stay will be levied.
