Our Thoughts on Lagoon Breeze Villas
Towards the end of 2011, this property (formerly known as Lagoon Lodges), changed hands and the new owner/managers have already made great improvements to what was always a very good little resort but which had needed a “freshen-up” before the new owner/managers took over. When we visited Lagoon Breeze Villas in December 2011 we were very impressed with the location, the grounds and gardens and the accommodation units. Many of the units have already been refreshed and are looking great. Everything has been thoroughly spring-cleaned, new decks built and repainting and improvement in all areas is well underway. The whole process is due to be completed by mid 2012, but right now, guests are enjoying great holidays at this property again.
Unlike many of the smaller mid-range resorts on Rarotonga, Lagoon Breeze Villas happily accept families with children of all ages in all accommodation types; it is also a good choice for singles, couples and honeymooners looking for a small mid-range resort in a great location with a good standard of accommodation and services at mid-range prices.
The location is superb. At the southern end of the Arorangi area, you find the Aroa Lagoon and this is where Lagoon Breeze Villas is located. Although the property is immediately across the road from the beautiful little white sand beach at Aroa, in some ways, this seems to add to the exclusiveness of the place. Guests in the 2 storey Deluxe Two Bedroom Polynesian Villas enjoy good views of the lagoon and for all guests the beach is only a few steps away. It is literally only a five minute walk to the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Sanctuary with their several restaurants. Kavera Cental with its general store and its local café-style dining is a couple of minutes walk in the other direction. A Dive Shop and Coco Putt mini-golf with its café are both close by and the Wigmore Superstore is handy, but probably best accessed by hire scooter or the round island bus which stops on demand right outside Lagoon Breeze Villas. Even though cooking facilities is a feature of all units, the complimentary tropical breakfast served daily at Lagoon Breeze’s lovely little outdoor café is a great feature and provides guests with the opportunity to meet and mingle if they wish. We know you will enjoy the Happy Hour each evening as the sun sets over the lagoon and the sky over the interior mountains blazes with colour.

The 18 units at Lagoon Breeze Villas are spread throughout the tropical gardens. Every villa features air-conditioning, high sloping ceilings and decent cooking facilities. Every villa, no matter whether it is a Garden Studio, a 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom villa, is a generous size.

Six spacious light and bright, open-plan units in 3 separate blocks with 2 units in each block, handy to the swimming pool and guest BBQ area. Every Garden Studio comes with a full kitchen, tiled floor throughout and a covered deck containing a dining table and chairs. There is another indoor dining setting too. We like the layout of these units, as while they are open plan studios, the kitchen and bathroom are off to one side, so they don’t impact too much on the sleeping/living area and you don’t feel like you’re living in a kitchen!

One Bedroom Villa
Six lovely villas set furthest away from the road and the pool. There are 3 blocks with 2 villas in each block. These Villas feature light coloured tiled floors, light coloured walls and timber-lined high sloping ceilings. There is a separate bedroom which can be closed off from the rest of the villa or opened up to increase the already spacious feel of the villa. The full-size kitchen flows through to a dining setting and into a nice big lounge area. A patio door opens off the lounge to a covered deck which contains an outdoor dining setting.

Two Bedroom Deluxe two-level Polynesian Villa
Four stand-alone villas on their own private lawn immediately to your right as you enter the Lagoon Breeze Villas driveway. These Polynesian-inspired villas feature natural wooden floors and wooden joinery which provides guests with a pleasant relaxing environment. There is a bedroom with ensuite bathroom on the ground floor as well as a beautiful open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area which opens on to a large covered terrace. Upstairs, there is a second bedroom complete with its own ensuite bathroom. The upstairs bedroom has louvered doors which open out to a private deck and views of the lagoon.

Two Bedroom Deluxe ground-level Polynesian Villa
Located on a private expanse of lawn to your left as you enter the property, the two, one level 2 Bedroom Ground Level Deluxe Polynesian Villas are really spacious. Featuring tiled floors, light coloured walls, pleasant timber lined high sloping ceilings and a huge wrap-around veranda; these villas sleep 6 in comfort and are ideal for families or groups of friends travelling together. There are 2 separate bedrooms and a large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom which contains a toilet and small vanity basin only. The main bathroom which is accessed direct from the living area and the wrap-around veranda contains the villa’s shower.

Getting to and from Lagoon Breeze Villas
Arriving guests are met at the airport by Lagoon Breeze Villas staff and transferred to the resort by resort vehicle. This provides a pleasant arrival experience. Guests are escorted to their villas by the staff member who meets guests at the airport which particularly welcome for those guests arriving on late night flights. Departure airport transfers are also by resort vehicle. Transfer time to and from the airport is only 10 minutes.
The round island buses stop on demand right outside the gate.
Kids Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at Lagoon Breeze Villas. There is a wading pool in the swimming pool area, a separate kids’ playground and a trampoline and plenty of space for children to run and play. Babysitting can be arranged.
Porta-Cots for infants are available, payable directly to the resort.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 30 days of scheduled arrival including, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of total accommodation will be levied.
If cancellations are effected within 14 days of scheduled arrival including no shows, a cancellation fee equal to 100% of total accommodation will be levied.
