Our Resort Report

OUR thoughts on Mana Island Resort & Spa, Mana Island, Mamanuca Islands, Fiji
That's easy - Mana is beaches, beaches and beaches; North Beach, South Beach and Sunset Beach to be exact. If you arrive by ferry you will be at South Beach and you will immediately note the extensive range of beach and water activities on offer. You will also note the a-la-carte restaurant with its tables almost on the sand. A short walk through the resort brings you to North Beach, a long stretch of pure white sand bathed in all-day sun and a great spot for snorkelling and sunbathing. The Live Cooking Restaurant (formerly the Mamanuca Restaurant), which is near the new swimming pool complex on North Beach, is where breakfasts are served.

Sunset Beach is a lovely secluded spot on the north-west point of the island and it's a pleasant late afternoon walk past the end of the island's little airport runway to experience the tropical sunset from this spot. Wander along a bit further and you come to the delightful Sunset Wedding Chapel and complete the circuit by passing by the secluded Premium Beachfront Bures before arriving back at South Beach. We also enjoy taking the bush path up to one of the two lookouts high up on the island - the views from there are well worth the effort.

Throughout 2015 (completed 01 August 2016), Mana Island Resort & Spa underwent a major upgrade, mainly focussed on the North Beach area, which included some terrific additional services and facilities the resort describes as “A New Era for Mana”. The new Reception Bure is a beautiful space and this is complemented by an upgrade to the restaurants and the addition of a whole new pool complex facing North Beach.  The large, meandering pool complex includes a swim-up bar and plenty of private nooks and corners.  An exciting new facility is the addition of 4 private Poolside Cabanas facing North Beach.  These cabanas are available for private hire and offer an intimate space for up to 4 guests to enjoy. The hire charge is F$65 (tax inclusive) for 3 hours and includes chaise lounge sofas and a cosy day bed, 2 cocktails of your choice, a bottle of Fiji Water, a fruit platter, towels and access to a paid food and beverage order service. Guests may only book a cabana once they are physically at the resort and we recommend you get in as quickly as possible – these cabanas are proving to be in high demand.  We've experienced a quick stint in a cabana and can report that they are great!

Mana Island Resort & Spa specialises in island weddings and honeymoons.  There are several great spots for a wedding to be held as well as a beautiful Wedding Chapel which faces the ocean.  Please refer to our Weddings Tab for further details.

Mana is a great spot for families too.  The Resort's layout, facilities and spacious grounds ensure that families as well as couples and honeymooners thoroughly enjoy the Mana Island experience without impinging on each other’s space.

Keeping in touch is no problem.  Wi-Fi hot spots exist throughout the Resort. This is a subscription service and major discounts are available for 3 day and weekly rates.

The Resort self-rates as “Deluxe Island Resort in Fiji.

The new “meals-inclusive” tariff at Mana Island Resort & Spa
In mid 2018, Mana Island Resort changed to a “meals-inclusive” tariff for all guests. This works well at Mana, as guests have all Mana’s wide range of meal outlets from which to choose and only two of their specialty restaurants – “Nasu Teppanyaki” and “Lattitude” will require guests to pay a supplementary charge.

Note re Food & Beverage Outlet availability and Seasonal Closures
Mana Island Resort & Spa have a policy of temporarily closing various food and beverage outlets depending on seasonal resort occupancies. During periods of lower occupancy, which normally occur from November through March each year, various restaurants will be closed for varying periods of time.  Mana advise: “Restaurant menus are served from different outlets, to ensure guests continue to enjoy the variety of food choices offered at our resort.”
We are advised the following closures from November 2019:
Kura Restaurant
Closed from 11 November until further notice
South Beach Restaurant
Closed from 10 November until further notice
Nasu Tepanyakki

Each Bure is 30m2 in area and has a small balcony and a thatched roof and features an outdoor shower (in the French style!).
