Our Thoughts on Crown Beach Resort & Spa
The 4.5 Star rated Crown Beach Resort & Spa has a lot going for it if you are looking for an adults-only Resort (they don’t accept accommodation bookings for under 16 year olds) in a remarkably good beachfront location. One of the highlights of a stay at Crown Beach is the fact that everything you need to have a perfect, relaxing and enjoyable holiday is right here on site. Of course, most people who visit Rarotonga do enjoy the whole island experience, but if you stay at Crown Beach you don’t really have to leave the property at all to have a great Rarotonga experience.
The location is right on a perfect beach and a lagoon with wonderful snorkelling and swimming, then there are the 3 restaurants, all of which receive excellent reviews. The Windjammer Restaurant is at the entrance to the Resort. It has the reputation of being one of the leading restaurants on Rarotonga. Their Oceans Restaurant is in the centre of the Resort and it’s here that the breakfasts (included in the tariff) are served and where the regular specialty nights are hosted. The breakfasts are impressive. As well as the tropical breakfast buffet, guests can choose an alternative breakfast from the a-la-carte cooked breakfast menu and have their breakfast cooked individually – no soggy bacon here! The new Tang Lounge Tapas Bar is a great additional option, but the options don’t end there. A romantic dinner for 2 can be arranged in one of the beachfront gazebos and there are regular beach dining options too. Finally, there is a self-catering option as some villas are equipped with kitchens.
Being located on the western side of Rarotonga means glorious sunsets and whales passing just outside the reef in the whale migration season. The 3 “Happy Hour” sessions each day provide ample opportunity for guests to enjoy Happy Hour-priced cocktails in a tropical beach location.
Crown Beach also has a Functions Centre which is right beside the resort car park and tucked away from the villas, which caters for conferences and for a Resort with only 36 accommodation units this is another welcome facility for guests wanting to combine business with leisure.
Your Accommodation Options
As you enter Crown Beach from the main road you pass the Windjammer Restaurant and “Your Beauty & Spa” complex on your right and the Resort car park and Function Centre on the left. You are already surrounded by tropical gardens as you enter Reception and you glimpse the beach and the lagoon through the palms. Straight ahead you see the Swimming pool and Oceans Restaurant and the 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas which are scattered around the pool and through the garden. The Beachfront Villas are right at the front of the Resort. To your right are the beautifully secluded Courtyard Pool Suites. All accommodation is air-conditioned.

 1 Bedroom Villas
Hexagonal in shape, the separate bedroom and the bathroom are located in the rear half of the villa and this gives the front half over to the kitchen and lounge which open out on to a pleasant patio area. At 65 square metres in area these villas are a very good size. The kitchen area features a servery at which guests can sit and enjoy the gardens and filtered pool or lagoon views. The 1 Bedroom Villas bathrooms are undergoing refurbishment one at a time, and completion is scheduled for April 2012.

Courtyard Pool Suites
Spacious and modern, the Courtyard Pool Suites are ideal for couples seeking privacy and seclusion. The Suite opens onto a private, walled courtyard which contains a personal plunge pool and a gazebo complete with an outdoor dining table and chairs for room service dining. The bathrooms are a special feature with double vanities, lovely big shower and are crowned with a claw-foot bathtub. The living/sleeping area is all one big space but the size and design ensures there is ample lounge area.

2 Bedroom Villas
Ninety square metres in size and hexagonal in shape. There are 2 bedrooms which share 1 bathroom are located in the rear half of the villa and the kitchen and lounge are in the front opening on to a pleasant patio. The 2 Bedroom Villas also have a nice long servery and the servery seats afford a pleasant view.

Beachfront Spa Villas
These 100 square metre beauties are almost right on the beach, but are set back just enough to ensure privacy from the beach. The views of the sunset from these Villas can only be described as spectacular. With a single separate bedroom and massive bathroom, the Beachfront Spa Villas also have a spacious lounge and a kitchen – also a dining table setting. There is a lovely private spa bath/plunge pool on the outdoor deck.

Getting to and from Crown Beach Resort & Spa
We will provide a coach or private car arrival/departure transfer from/to Rarotonga International Airport to Crown Beach Resort & Spa.

Children aged 15 years and under are not accepted at the resort.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected between 3 days of scheduled arrival including no shows, a cancellation fee equal to one night's accommodation will be levied.
