Bullet OUR Thoughts on Fare Pea Iti, Taha’a, French Polynesia
Fare Pea Iti rates at the top end of the “pension” range.  The location is stunning – right at the top of Taha’a Island overlooking islands in the lagoon and with Bora Bora’s romantic central Mount Otemanu clearly visible over the ocean.  Fare Pea Iti has a wide range of facilities and services including a good-sized swimming pool, excellent restaurant (open for all meals) and bar and a lovely little spa with a good range of treatments and massage.

The 6 accommodation units are a very high standard and range from a room attached to the central facility to bungalows in the garden and beachfront bungalows.  Their Luxury Beach Bungalow features a private jacuzzi bath and their Traditional Beach Bungalow offers a kitchenette.

In the true “pension” style, the owner and his staff are always available for assistance and advice on how to enjoy the sights of Taha’a which include the amazing Coral Garden, the vanilla plantation and the pearl farm, but this island is mainly for relaxing, catching the sunsets, chilling out on the beach, around the pool or along the picturesque jetty while enjoying the sights of yachts and the occasional small cruise ship riding at anchor in the lagoon.

General note regarding standards and guest experiences at Pensions
(also known as Guest Houses and Family Hotels).
The Pension-style of accommodation is well established in French Polynesia, following the line of similar properties in Europe (and France in particular) which have been enjoyed by travellers for many years.  There is no doubt that, for the right person, a stay in a Pension in French Polynesia can be a very rewarding experience.  Generally, members of the family offering the accommodation manage and work at the property and that adds something of a “local hospitality” feel to a stay.  Of course, standards vary from those experienced in international resorts and hotels, but the difference is reflected in the room tariffs.  What is not reflected in the room tariff is the personal service and the warm feelings of well-being that can be experienced from a stay in a Pension in French Polynesia.

We recommend you take note of the section in the attached Fact Sheet headed “Important Remarks Information” to further explain the type of accommodation and services to expect.
