Our Thoughts on Hotel Le Mahana Huahine, Baie d'Avea - Parea - Huahine Iti, French Polynesia
Previously known as "Hotel Relais Mahana", this great little resort located on the south-west Coast of Huahine-Iti Island on a big, curving bay it faces west enjoying superb sunsets.  The resort fronts a perfect beach with tropical lawns and gardens in profusion. Apart from the authentic-style South-Seas Bungalows, the piece de resistance of the whole place is the waterfront restaurant and bar which has an open, covered sandy area out front facing the pier which is a perfect location for long, lingering lunches and evening sunset cocktails as the visiting yachts ride quietly at anchor out in the lagoon. The coral garden in the lagoon just off the end of the resort’s pontoon jetty, ensures that snorkelling is a major attraction for guests at Hotel Le Mahana Huahine and snorkel gear with fins is available for complimentary use by guests as are kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, beach towels and beach chairs.  Free Wifi is available in the lobby.  Huahine is a super laid-back sort of a place, so there are plenty of relaxing activities available here.  Hotel Le Mahana Huahine has a rental vehicle desk in the foyer lounge where it is easy to hire cars, bicycles and scooters.  For those staying more than a day or two, a scooter is a great way to get around and mingle with the local scooter riders.  A bicycle is a good way to reach the local village which is located just around the headland from the resort and if you want to experience something really special, consider a horse ride on the beach or a lagoon cruise which includes lunch at tables under umbrellas set up in the waters of the lagoon. There are plenty of more active pursuits too - such as hiking, 4WD Tours, Scuba Diving, Kite Surfing, Jet-Ski riding and Fishing. The restaurant is well known for its food quality and the location is ideal.

Your Accommodation Options.
Broadly speaking, there are 4 different types of accommodation units at Hotel Le Mahana Huahine; the 4 x Lagoon Front Bungalows which are adjoining units, the 16 x Garden Bungalows which are semidetached units , 1 x Traditional Fare and the 12 x stand-alone Deluxe Bungalows.
All accommodation units have been fitted with air-conditioners. All rooms feature high vaulted ceilings and a pleasant veranda out front.

Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
 Adjoining Garden Bungalows:
Located in the middle of a tropical garden, the Garden Bungalows are semidetached units and can accommodate 3 to 4 people. They are 26m² with an 6m² veranda. Some of them are connecting, which is perfect for families with teenagers. These bungalows can also be booked separately.
*1 unit features access to person with reduced mobility.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests (adults or adults and children)
Existing Bedding: 1 King size bed or 2 twin beds + 1 Single bed (or 2 Single beds)
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

 Adjoining Lagoon Front Bungalows:
Located in the front row and overlooking the lagoon with a panoramic view, these bungalows are adjoining units. They feature a nice and colourful decoration. Enjoy a superb view of the lagoon and the neighboring island of Raiatea. Admire the colors of the lagoon directly from your bed and the sunsets from the terrace of your bungalow. Lagoon Front bungalows are perfect for families.. They are 40m² with an 18m² veranda.

 Deluxe Lagoon View Bungalows:
The Deluxe Lagoon View Bungalows are 48m² with a 15m² veranda and a 14m² private courtyard garden with indoor/outdoor shower. The bathrooms are really pleasant with their internal vanity and toilet and their private courtyard shower. Spacious and nicely decorated bungalows in a modern Polynesian style, they
are enjoying a small view on Huahine lagoon even if located on the 2nd line.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests (adults or adults and children)
Existing Bedding: 1 King size bed or 2 twin beds + 1 Single bed
Additional Bedding: 1 baby cot can be added for infants aged up to 2 years.

 Deluxe Beach Front Bungalows:
The Deluxe Beach Bungalows are 48m² with a 15m² veranda and a 14m² private courtyard garden with indoor/outdoor shower. Similar to the Deluxe Lagoon View Bungalows but only steps away from the beach.  The large veranda is so close to the beach you can almost reach out and touch the sand with your toes. We recommend these spacious bungalows located on a beautiful white sand beach and facing the lagoon. Enjoy sunbathing on the beach in front of your bungalow or go swimming and snorkeling in the lagoon.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests (adults or adults and children)
Existing Bedding: 1 King size bed or 2 twin beds + 1 Single bed
Additional Bedding: 1 baby cot can be added for infants aged up to 2 years.

 Traditional Fare:
A beautiful bungalow made in the traditional way with natural woods: Coconut wood, woven bamboo walls and a pitched roof thatched with pandanus leaves. Ideal for couples’ holidays, the Traditional Fare is 35m² and features a 13.5m² semi-over-water furnished deck.
No direct access to Lagoon.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults only
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

Getting to and from Hotel Le Mahana Huahine
Huahine Island is very centrally located to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora and is reached by a 35 to 40 minutes direct flight from all three of its neighbouring islands. Huahine is actually 2 islands - Huahine Nui, (the larger of the two) and Huahine Iti. The two islands are joined by a bridge.  The airport is located on the northern coast of Huahine Nui and it is around about a 35-minute scenic drive from the airport to Hotel Le Mahana which is located on the south-west coast of Huahine Iti. 

Transfers between the airport and Hotel Le Mahana Huahine are normally on a seat-in-vehicle basis.  Private Car transfers are also available (at additional cost).

Le Mahana is a short drive around the coast from Parea Village, a walkable distance for a reasonably fit person.  Europcar have a desk at the hotel so rental cars are easily organised if you decide to do a “self-tour” of Huahine, which is an excellent way to enjoy the Huahine Islands if you are staying a few days.

Children will enjoy the sandy beach, shallow clear water in front of the beach and the swimming pool. Beach toys available.
