OUR Thoughts on Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas
A 4 Star rated Condo-style Resort on Kaanapali Beach in the so-called “Beach Resort Area” which means that it’s to the north of Black Rock which marks the northern end of Kaanapali Main Beach.  The benefit of the Beach Resort Area lies in the fact that it is a little less populated (thus quieter) than the rest of Kaanapali Beach. 

Guests at Maui Kaanapali Villas have a short stroll down the beach to reach Black Rock which is renowned for its great snorkelling and the chance of swimming with the turtles which often frequent the area. There is another reef only a short distance up the beach which also provides excellent snorkelling.  The location also means that it is a pleasant walk down to Whaler’s Village with the option of stopping off at the various resorts lining the beach on the way. At Whaler’s Village, pick up a few supplies, do a little people-watching, maybe take in a coffee, and then return via the complimentary Kaanapali Shuttle.

For those people seeking a little activity to go with their beach holiday, this resort is a good option being virtually next door to The Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch and all its facilities and just along the road from The Royal Kaanapali Golf Course and over the road from another exceptionally good, championship Golf Course.  There are 2 further excellent golf courses only minutes away to the north. The Resort itself has a Fitness Centre and a Day Spa.

For a Condo-style property, Maui Kaanapali Villas offer a good range of resort facilities including a very good restaurant and Bar, the Castaway Café, a convenience store, 2 swimming pools and kiddie pool, 2 Jet Spa Pools and 3 outdoor BBQs for guests to use. The complimentary coffee served in the lobby each morning is a good way to start the day and a great opportunity to meet other guests. Next to the swimming pools and restaurant you will find the beach activities hut where it’s possible to rent snorkelling, surfing, sailing equipment etc.

Consider Maui Kaanapali Villas if you are looking for a quieter location (while being within easy access of plenty of action around Whalers Village if the mood takes you) and the option of choosing a Studio or Condo-Suite with a full kitchen.

Your Accommodation Options
There is a very wide range of accommodation types over 260 air-conditioned accommodation units at Maui Kaanapali Villas.  The immediate feature is the six-level Aloha Tower which leads off the beautifully refurbished hotel lobby.  The accommodation units in the Aloha Tower are accessed by 2 lifts.  The Resort also comprises 4 other two-level buildings – The Banyan, Coconut, Dolphin & Emerald and these are walk-up units with ground floor and first floor accommodation units only. 

Finding exactly the right fit for your requirements can be quite a challenge, but we’re up for it on your behalf!  Firstly, apart from the difference between the 6 level Aloha Tower and low-rise blocks, there are also categories which have a full kitchen and one (the Hotel Room category) which does not offer a kitchen.  Secondly, most categories also come with a "Standard" or “Premium” option.  Our Specialists will help you unravel all this, but here is a broad explanation.

We will start with the difference between the standard and “premium” option.  The “premium” option means the accommodation has been more recently modernised and refurbished along the following lines:
 ● New Flooring
 ● New Furniture
 ● New Kitchen Cabinets & Counter Tops
 ● New Appliances
 ● Remodelled Kitchens and Bathrooms.
The inventory of Premium accommodation is limited and not always readily available.

The standard accommodation differs in that it has a “Tropical 80s” look with cane furniture etc although still very comfortable and a little cheaper than the Premium option.

The main difference between the accommodation in the Aloha Tower and the low-rise buildings is the size of the lanais/balconies/patios.  Most of the lanais in the Aloha Tower are very small, probably no more than a metre in depth.  The outdoor areas of the accommodation in the 4 low-rise buildings are much larger and are furnished for guests to enjoy an outdoor living option.  All buildings have an option of ground floor accommodation.

The Aloha Tower houses “Garden View” as well as “Partial Ocean View” and “Ocean View” category accommodation, the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of The Tower provide the ocean view.  The Aloha Tower is the only building where the “Hotel Room” category is found.

The Coconuts and Banyan low-rise Buildings are closest to the road entrance to the property and house Garden Studios and Garden 1 Bedroom units.

The Dolphin and Emerald low-rise Buildings are closest to the beach and house the “Oceanside” category Studios and 1 Bedroom units.  The term “Oceanside” is used to describe the location of the units being handy to the beach, but should not be taken to imply that guests staying in this category will have a view of the ocean.

The “Hotel Room” category is the category which does not offer a kitchen.

66m2 in area which gives ample space for an open-plan layout with bed, lounge furniture and dining table.  You also get a full kitchen, a bathroom with a combo bath/shower and a lanai/balcony or patio with those Studios on the ground floor. Garden View Studios are found in Aloha Tower as well as Coconuts and Banyan Buildings.  Ocean View Studios are in the Aloha Tower.

At an average of 100 to 120m2 in area, 1 Bedroom (condo-style) Suites are a great size for a family or couples seeking more space.  The 1 Bedroom Suites located in the 6-level Aloha Tower have a wide doorway between the bedroom and the living room which, when open, adds to the feeling of space.  The 1 Bedroom units located in the 2-level buildings may have a “loft” bedroom, that is, the bedroom will be located on a mezzanine above the living room. All 1 Bedroom units have a full kitchen; the bathroom will have a combo bath/shower.  Garden View units are located in Aloha Tower, Banyan and Coconuts Buildings.  Ocean View units are located in Aloha Tower.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: Either 1 King Bed and a Sofa Bed, 1 Queen Bed and a Sofa Bed or 2 Double Beds and a Sofa Bed

Bullet 2 Bedrooms/2 Bathrooms Deluxe:
Averaging 170m2 in size and occupying the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of the 6-level Aloha Tower from wide views. Enjoy a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. All 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom Deluxe Suites are located in the Aloha Tower.
Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in the Master Bedroom, 1 Queen Bed in the Second Bedroom. Some have a fold-out Sofa Bed in the Living Area.

Getting To and From Maui Kaanapali Villas
We will add airport transfers to your Aston Kaanapali Beach Hotel package as appropriate/agreed.
Take the Kaanapali Shuttle to and from Whaler’s Village.
If staying more than a day or two, (and we recommend you do), you may like to consider a rental car for a least a portion of your stay as this will give you the opportunity to visit the many spectacular sights that Maui has to offer, at your own pace..

Bullet Camp Kaanapali
Camp Kaanapali, located at Aston Kaanapali Shores, is open to all children staying at Aston properties on Maui.
24 hours-notice of bookings is required.
Aston Hotels Maui bring the excitement of summer camp to Maui year-round with their Camp Kaanapali children's program at Aston Kaanapali Shores. Kids from ages 5 to 12 are entertained and educated with activities and Hawaiian cultural programs, such as:
● Arts and crafts
● Beach exploration
● Cooking
● Games
● Hula dancing
● Kite making/flying
● Lei making
● Scavenger hunts
● Swimming
● Ukulele lessons
Day sessions run from 8:00am to 2:00pm, while Friday evening sessions are from 5:00pm to 9:30pm. Days of operation vary seasonally.

Kindly Note:
 - The camp is open to children aged 5 to 12 staying at any
   of Aston’s Maui hotels and condominium resorts.
 - A one-time registration fee of US $10 per child includes
   a camp T-shirt. The US$35 per session rate covers
   activities, snacks and a meal.
 - Reservations are required to be made at least
   24 hours in advance.
 - Space is limited to 16 participants per session.

Bullet Peak Season Bookings
    26 December 2018 to 03 January 2019 
Bullet Bookings which include any nights falling within
     the peak season and cancelled within 40 days of
     scheduled arrival will incur a cancellation fee equal
     to the cost of staying 2 nights at the rate booked
     plus relevant taxes. This includes no shows and
