Our thoughts on Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii
This is another special place to stay on Maui. The location is superb as it’s right at the northern end of Ka’anapali Beach where the beach is widest and where the Ka’anapali Beach Walk meets Black Rock. Guests at Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa have ready access to the marvellous snorkelling around the base of Black Rock with the chance to see turtles, a large number of tropical fish and colourful corals as well as having a grandstand view of the evening Cliff-Dive Ceremony held every day at sundown.

Complementing the 2018 full renovation of all the guest rooms and suites, in January 2020, the resort unveiled a multi-million-dollar transformation of its lobby, including an expansive open-air lanai (balcony) which features plush sofas and rocking chairs and the introduction of Kaanapali’s only lobby bar. On the lower lobby level, the resort has opened a family game room where guests of all ages can surf the internet, watch movies, or challenge an opponent to a round of foosball or shuffleboard. A cozy outdoor area offers corn hole games and teepees for children to play in.

We are always impressed with how quiet, relaxing and romantic it is here.  Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa has managed to produce an atmosphere where singles, couples and families can all enjoy their own space.  Even when the resort is full, there never seems to be any difficulty securing a sun-lounger near a pool. There is a separate kids’ pool, a very well equipped Fitness Centre a marvellous Spa and a whole range of restaurants and bars – even a Starbucks Coffee outlet. For a little indulgence hire yourself a beach cabana for a half day (or full day) of total bliss or wander down the Beach Walk beachfront path and you are only 5-10 minutes from Whalers Village with all its shops, restaurants, bars and galleries.

For guests wanting to participate in resort activities, there is an extensive daily activity program on offer.

It’s not a bad idea to rent a car for at least part of the time spent on Maui and if you do, self-parking is included in the daily Resort Charge.  However, in this location, you can have a super holiday without having a car at all, just lay back and enjoy the ambience and the facilities provided, but if you do need to explore, the complimentary shuttle provided will take you to Front Street Lahaina and Lahaina Cannery Mall calling at the other Starwood Group Resorts on the way.

Your Accommodation Options
Each accommodation block is given a special Hawaiian name which describes its location on the resort as well as the name “Hale” (house). There are two distinctly different sections to this property; firstly, the flat area beside the beach and secondly, the area on top of the Black Rock promontory which marks the northern end of Ka’anapali Beach proper. The Resort lobby, restaurants, bars, meeting rooms and swimming pools are all located in the centre of the flat beachfront area.  This central resort facility is flanked by hotel accommodation blocks which house the Resort View Rooms, the Partial Ocean View Rooms, the Ocean View Rooms, the Ocean Front Rooms and the Deluxe Ocean View Rooms, as well as the 1 bedroom Family Suites and the 1 bedroom Junior Suites.  The blocks on the top of Black Rock (known as blocks 5 and 6) house the Deluxe Ocean Front Rooms. None of the accommodation blocks is higher than 6 floors and all multi-storied blocks have lift access.

Room Categories
 Resort View Rooms:
Located on the flat in Anuenue Hale (Block 3) which is the accommodation block closest to the lobby, restaurants etc. The Resort View Rooms face outward towards the tennis courts, the golf course and the mountains.  Resort View Rooms are a good 31m² in size and have a lanai/balcony.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Standard Double Beds
Additional Bedding: A rollaway may be added in the King Room only. A cot for a baby may be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Partial Ocean View Rooms:
Outward facing and 31m²in size with a balcony.  Partial Ocean View Rooms are located on the flat in the Anuenue Hale at the Black Rock end with views of the resort grounds and the mountains as well as a side view peep of the ocean.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: A cot for a baby or a rollaway bed may be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Ocean View Rooms:
31m² on the flat with a balcony facing inwards over the swimming pools and gardens to the beach and ocean.  Located in the Anuenue Hale (block 3) very handy to the hotel central facilities, as well as the Naiu Hale (block 4) which is just a little further away from the restaurants etc but still handy.

Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Standard Double Beds
Additional Bedding: A rollaway may be added in the King Room only. A cot for a baby may be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Deluxe Ocean View Rooms:
37m² in size, Deluxe Ocean View Rooms are located on the flat in Lahaina Hale (block 2) and have beautiful views of the ocean, the beach and Black Rock.  Deluxe Ocean View Rooms are the closest accommodation to the self-parking building. Enjoy the sight of the Sunset diving off Black Rock right from your balcony.

 Ocean Front Rooms:
Ocean Front Rooms are 31m² and are located in a prime position in the centre of Anuenue Hale on the flat at the beach end of Naiu Hale.  These rooms have grandstand views of the ocean, the beach and the sunsets and are very handy to the hotel lobby and restaurants.

Additional Bedding: A rollaway may be added in the King Room only. A cot for a baby may be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

Moana Ocean Front Rooms:
Moana Ocean Front Rooms are in the Moana Oceanfront wing and have panoramic ocean & sunset views from every room. They are spacious rooms with a modern design in a selcuded location overlooking the ocean.

Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: A rollaway may be added in the King Room only. A cot for a baby may be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

Getting to and from Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa
We will provide a coach or private car arrival/departure transfers between Maui Airports and Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in package arrangements as required/agreed.

It’s a pleasant walk from Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa down the beach to Whalers Village.  Starwood/Marriott Hotels Maui provide a Resort Shuttle bus which operates between the 3 Starwood Resorts and 3 stops in Lahaina town, the Lahaina Cannery Mall, Lahaina Gateway, and Hilo Hattie's at the new Outlets of Maui! The cost of this service is Included in the Resort Charge at Sheraton Maui.

Kids Policy
 Kids Stay Free
Children 17 years of age and under sharing with at least 1 paying adult/parent are accommodated free of charge when utilising existing bedding, subject to room maximum occupancy policies. 
Cots for babies are provided free of charge, subject to room maximum occupancy policies.

Rollaway beds for children aged 17 and under are provided at additional cost, subject to room maximum occupancy policies.

For guests arriving prior to official check-in time, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa will accommodate guests as rooms become available.  Luggage will be stored until the room is available for guests to check in.
