Our Thoughts on Waikiki Pearl
In Waikiki terms this is one of the smaller hotel properties with only 131 rooms and 10 accommodation floors. It’s rated 3 Star and that is a fair rating for a property which doesn’t pretend to be a resort as such as it is an older-style block which doesn’t offer a swimming pool or many other resort-style facilities. What it does offer is spacious apartment-style Studio Rooms and Junior Suites together with One, Two and Three Bedroom Suites with varying degrees of self-catering facilities. For the price of the accommodation, guests get a central, well-priced, no-frills place to base themselves for a Waikiki holiday.
Since 2015 there has been a fair amount of construction going on around this location with work going on at the former Ohana Waikiki West next door (now re-opened under the Hilton Garden Inn Brand) and the whole International Market Place redevelopment happening immediately over Kuhio Avenue from Waikiki Pearl. The good news is that the New International Market Place is now in place and the construction noise has all but disappeared. The open-air 360,000 square foot, three-level shopping center now on the site of the old International Market Place, includes about 75 stores and 9 restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating on the third-level grand lanai.
As they say in USA “The dust has settled”! Once again, Waikiki Pearl appeals for those seeking value-for-money apartment-style accommodation in a central Waikiki location.

Waikiki Pearl has 131 units over 10 accommodation floors. The Units either face north-west onto Nahua Street or south-east over the car park to the Hilton Garden Inn and their large Banyan Tree. Standard Rooms do not have a balcony as the access walkway to the rooms is on the outside of the building at the location of the Standard Rooms. Guests in Standard Rooms tend to leave their window drapes closed for privacy which results in these rooms remaining fairly dark. For only a small price premium over the Standard Rooms, the Junior Suites offer so much more convenience and comfort for a couple.

The 25.2m2 Standard Rooms are the basic room type at Waikiki Pearl. Rooms are equipped with a microwave oven and under-counter fridge.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests of any age
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed plus 1 Standard Double Bed or 1 King or 1 Queen Bed.

Junior Suite with Balcony:
Junior Suites are larger open-plan style at 42m2 and have a furnished balcony with city views. Junior Suites are equipped with a microwave oven, an under-counter fridge and coffeemaker.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests of any age
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed plus 1 Standard Double Bed or 1 King Bed.

One Bedroom Suite with Kitchen & Balcony:
These Suites have a separate bedroom and a living/dining area with kitchen. They are a generous 67.1m2 in size and have a furnished balcony with city views. The kitchen comprises a fridge/freezer, 2 electric element cook-top, a microwave oven kettle and sink. Kitchens are equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 guests of any age
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed plus 1 Standard Double Bed in the bedroom. 1 Queen-size fold-out sofa bed in living room.

Two Bedroom Suite with Kitchen & Balcony:
Two Bedroom Suites are 91.2m2. The main bedroom is separate and has the suite’s bathroom attached to it and only accessed through the main bedroom. The second bedroom is part of the living/dining/kitchen area which is screened off from the living/dining/kitchen area by a heavy curtain which can be pulled over at night for privacy. As in the One Bedroom Suites, kitchens contain a 2 element cook-top, a full-sized fridge/freezer, microwave and pots/pans/crockery and cutlery.
Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests of any age
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed in each bedroom/sleeping area and a Queen Fold-out Sofa Bed in the lounge.

Three Bedroom Suite with Kitchen & Balcony:
At 109.7m2 the Three Bedroom Suites are suitable for multiple couples or a larger family group. There are 2 different styles – either three separate bedrooms or two separate bedrooms and the curtained-off 3rd bedroom off the lounge area in the style of the 2 Bedroom Suites. The kitchen is the standard Suite kitchen described above.

Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed in each bedroom/sleeping area and a Queen Fold-out Sofa Bed in the living area.

Getting to and from Waikiki Pearl
We will include a coach arrival/departure transfer between Honolulu International Airport and Waikiki Pearl as required/agreed in package arrangements. Private Car transfers are available at additional cost.
Waikiki Pearl is close to all the action of Waikiki, just around the corner from Kuhio Avenue and half a block away from the Food Pantry Supermarket. All the public transport – TheBus and the Waikiki Trolleys stop on Kuhio Avenue at this point. A reasonably brisk walk will bring you to Waikiki Beach in 6 minutes – a leisurely stroll through the new International Market Place will take you 10 minutes right into the heart of Waikiki Beach near Moana Surfrider, Outrigger Waikiki and The Royal Hawaiian.
Unlimited use of the Waikiki to Ala Moana Shuttle is included in the hotel’s daily Hospitality Fee.
