OUR Thoughts on Pension Green Lodge, Tema'e, Moorea, French Polynesia
Pension Green Lodge Moorea is a lovely alternative to an International Resort for a stay-put holiday on Moorea. Comprising six very comfortable units and handy to both Moorea’s airport and The Moorea Golf Club, Green Lodge fronts a natural white-sand beach which is great for walking (bring sand shoes) but not suitable for swimming outside the Pension as there is a lot of coral rock in the shallow lagoon at this point. There is good swimming around a 10-minutes walk along the beach.
Two stand-alone Beach Bungalows are located just back from the beach under large tropical trees and there are 3 Garden Bungalows (1 is stand-alone and the other 2 are a duplex) and there is also a room attached to the main facility/house. All units are of good standard and have air-conditioning, fridge, tea & coffee facilities, satellite TV, iron and ironing board. Bathrooms open to a shower courtyard.
You will love the breakfasts and special dinners available if you decide to dine “at home” (and we recommend that you do) as the food is superb. There are other dining options within an easy walk. Massage is another feature service and guests can enjoy their massage either under a rustic roof on the beachfront or on the privacy of their own veranda. There is a pleasant little swimming pool on site.
Even with all the resort-like facilities, Green Lodge retains the homely feeling that a pension should convey, and it does – in spades! The hosts are warm and charming and the whole property exudes peace and relaxation. For more active guests, the golf course is within walking distance and tandem sky-diving is readily available at the airport which is close by.

The Pension-style of accommodation is well established in French Polynesia, following the line of similar properties in Europe (and France in particular) which have been enjoyed by travellers for many years. There is no doubt that, for the right person, a stay in a Pension in French Polynesia can be a very rewarding experience. Generally, members of the family offering the accommodation manage and work at the property and that adds something of a “local hospitality” feel to a stay. Of course, standards vary from those experienced in international resorts and hotels, but the difference is reflected in the room tariffs. What is not reflected in the room tariff is the personal service and the warm feelings of well-being that can be experienced from a stay in a Pension in French Polynesia.

Cancellations made between 30 & 44 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee
of 42 Euros
Cancellations made between 15 & 29 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee
equal to 40% of the total cost of
accommodation booked.
(minimum 1-night fee)
Cancellations made between 7 & 14 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee
equal to 75% of the total cost of
accommodation booked
(minimum 1-night fee)
Cancellations made within 7 days of scheduled
arrival, no shows and departures prior to
scheduled check-out date are charged in
full for the complete stay booked.
