MANAVA BEACH RESORT & SPA – MOOREA
Our Resort Report
OUR Thoughts on Manava Beach Resort & Spa – Moorea, Maharepa, North Coast Moorea
Formerly known as Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa, Manava Beach Resort is located on a small “bump” on the coastline of Moorea. The resort has a nice little beach, a fantastic horizon swimming pool and right in front of the Premium Overwater Bungalows, deep water which leads to an opening in the fringing lagoon reef. Sunrise and sunset are both well viewed from Manava Beach and many guests meet on the waterfront at sunset to enjoy the spectacle.
This is an excellent location on Moorea’s north coast just along from Cook’s Bay and walking distance from the resort to the commercial village of Maharepa where there is a supermarket, restaurants, cafés and boutique shops which service the local population as well as visitors. You are spoilt for choice between Manava Beach Resort & Spa’s own restaurants and the outside restaurants, many of which offer a pick-up service and this alone makes a stay of a week or more at The Manava Beach Resort & Spa such a good option for a terrific Moorea holiday experience.
There isn’t a lot we can add to the resort’s own excellent description below; however, what we can add is that in our opinion The Manava Beach Resort & Spa – Moorea offers an accommodation type to suit almost every traveller’s need and a range of facilities and services that really deliver a great holiday. Have a look at the Facilities Guides in the right-hand panel and you’ll see what we mean. Mateihani is a bar lounge serving wine, specialty cocktails and tapas with good music, Mateihani Lounge is tucked away in intimate surroundings at the resort and open Friday and Saturday evenings.

Your Accommodation Options
For a resort with a total of 94 accommodation units, Manava Beach Resort has utilised its 3-hectare beachfront location very well. Unlike some mid-sized resorts with overwater bungalows which can be very spread out with quite a hike for guests between some of the bungalows and the central restaurants etc., at Manava Beach Resort, the layout of the resort results in all guests, whether they be staying in the land-based accommodation units or in the overwater bungalows, having reasonably close access to all facilities.
All accommodation is “Modern Polynesian” in style with natural timber plank flooring, light-painted walls and modern island-style furnishings. Garden View Rooms and Garden View Duplex accommodation units are offered in 2 storeyed blocks closest to the road and these rooms have flat ceilings as you would expect in a hotel block of rooms – all other accommodation is the “Bungalow” style which are either “stand alone” or in the case of most of the Premium Garden Pool Bungalows, in duplex units (two to a block). Bungalows have high vaulted ceilings which adds to the feeling of airiness and space.
All accommodation is air-conditioned while Premium Garden Pool Bungalows, all Beach Bungalows and all Overwater Bungalows also feature a ceiling fan and flow-through ventilation.
