OUR thoughts on Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort managed by Sofitel
With only 149 rooms including 8 suites and 12 overwater bungalows, Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort managed by Sofitel (formerly known as Le Meridien Tahiti), which was extensively renovated throughout in 2010, is a lovely intimate-style of hotel.  Being located on the coast only 30 minutes from Papeete’s city centre and 15 minutes away from Faa’a International Airport it is a pleasant cross between a city hotel and a beach resort.  It is the ideal spot for a stay in transit for a few days between arrival/departure Tahiti and the outer islands.

We think Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort has a great atmosphere which is probably due to the way the hotel buildings cluster around the fantastic, big sand-floor swimming pool which is the centre-piece of the property.  The swimming pool is almost like a natural opening of the sea and the beach into the resort grounds, as the way it has been designed and its sand floor makes it flow seamlessly to and from the lagoon beach.

There’s always something happening around this area including outdoor massage etc.  Also incorporated into this area you will enjoy L’Atelier a unique and vibrant art scene where guests can participate in hands-on art workshops, creative exhibitions and art lectures.  Optional cooking lessons and wine appreciation courses are also features at Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort.

The Resort offers some very generous discounts for stays of 3 nights or longer as well as combo rates in conjunction with their partner resorts on most of the other islands. When combining a stay with one or more of the partner resorts on other islands, a full buffet breakfast for two is included in the nightly tariff at Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort.

Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort has a full range of accommodation options.  Rooms and Suites are located in four-level hotel blocks and these are complimented by 12 beautiful Overwater Bungalows.  All accommodation is spacious with a pleasing blend of contemporary and Polynesian décor.  All rooms, suites and bungalows are air-conditioned.  Room and Suite bathrooms feature a separate bathtub and a walk-in shower. Every room and Suite has a pleasant furnished balcony or patio.

Overwater Bungalows have extensive decking and a separate dressing-room area.

 Overwater Bungalows:
The 12 recently refurbished Polynesian-style Overwater Bungalows are accessed by an overwater boardwalk off the left-hand side of the resort facing Moorea.  They are very spacious (approximately 56m²) and each has a separate dressing room and lovely high cathedral ceilings. 
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults and 1 Child
Bedding Configuration: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: A Sofa Bed may be utilised for the 3rd occupant.

 The Presidential Suite:
Located on the top floor with a superb outlook over the ocean to Moorea, the Presidential Suite comprises a separate bedroom, large indoor lounge and dining area as well as large outdoor lounge and dining areas, there’s even room for a free-standing hammock!

Getting to and from Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort
Seat-in-vehicle Airport Transfers will be included in your holiday package arrangements as required/agreed.

The Resort has a City Shuttle bus which operates twice daily (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays) on the 30-minute trip between the resort and Papeete City.  There is a charge for this service.

The Tamanu Shopping Centre with its shops, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, banks etc is an easy walk from Tahiti Ia Ora Beach Resort.

Families and Kids

Children aged up to 16 years stay free when sharing accommodation with their parents and utilising existing bedding.

Children aged under 4 years receive complimentary meals:

Early Check-in and Late Check-out
 - Guaranteed Early check-in prior to 10:00am will

 - Early check-in from 10:00am to 3:00pm is charged at
   50% of the nightly accommodation rate booked.
 - Late check-out to 6:00pm is charged at a flat rate
   irrespective of the room type occupied.
 - Late check-out after 6:00pm is charged as an extra
   room night.
Day Rooms
Day rooms may be booked between 9:00am & 6:00pm
at a flat rate.  A day room is a useful option for
those in transit between outer islands and the Papeete
International Airport for late departing flights.

Cancellation & Alteration Policy
 All cancellations must be made in writing
 Cancellations and alterations to booking dates made
      7 days or less prior to scheduled arrival will incur a
      cancellation fee equal to the total cost of the
      accommodation booked. 
 Guests who fail to show up on the booked date incur
      a cancellation fee equal to the total cost of the
      accommodation booked. 
 Guests departing prior to scheduled departure date
      are charged in full for the accommodation booked
      but not utilised.
