OUR Thoughts on King Tide House, Anson Bay Road, Norfolk Island
Our Travel Specialists have been fans of Norfolk Island for years and we have continued to offer our travel expertise to travellers, even when there was no direct air service between Auckland and Norfolk Island.  On a recent visit, we were introduced to a lovely new property – King Tide House, and were very impressed with  everything about it.  

The house itself is brand-new and comes with comfortable furnishings, beautiful polished wood flooring, high ceilings and gorgeous open plan living. There are 2 bedrooms which share the spacious bathroom.  The bathroom features a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower.  The house is located on a small promontory of land near Norfolk Island’s north west corner and all rooms (including the bathroom) offer superb views out over a pretty lawn towards the ocean and the spectacular sunsets. 

There is a large, covered deck on the front of the house (which also shares the ocean views) as well as another covered deck on the back which is beautifully furnished with white rattan furniture and which faces up a quiet valley towards Mt Pitt – this deck is an ideal spot for reading and relaxing.

The living room, kitchen and dining is a beautiful space.  The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized fridge as well as oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and breakfast bar.  All cooking and dining utensils are provided.  The wood-burning stove supplements the heating in the winter and the flow-through ventilation cools in the summer.

It only takes around 10-minutes to drive into “town” and you will probably do that drive most days, even if it’s only for supplies and dinners at a restaurant or club, but after a couple of days of staying at King Tide House, you will find yourself drawn more and more towards the quiet seclusion and the totally relaxing views and the lovely walks to be enjoyed around this beautiful place.

Accommodation Arrangements
The 200m2 house (including garage and covered decks) has 2 bedrooms and 1 large bathroom with separate bath and walk/wheel-in shower.  linen is supplied and the house is fully serviced every 7 days.  A washing machine and clothes dryer is included in the house amenities list. 
 Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding:
Main Bedroom 1 King Bed (does not split).
Second Bedroom: 1 Queen Bed (does not split).
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding is accommodated. 

General note re a holiday home stay.
As a general rule, a holiday home is a private citizen’s private residence or holiday place and, unlike a stay at a resort, a manager or owner may not always be available on-site. With King Tide House, the owner (or an agent of the owner) is available to sort out any problems or maintenance issues encountered and to assist with advice on places to visit, restaurant reservations (if required) and so on.

Although Norfolk Island is a very safe destination and residents seldom lock their doors, it is sensible to maintain a reasonable level of security and to keep up a personal insect repellent program.

Through understanding what this accommodation style entails, a really enjoyable holiday can be had in a holiday home on the island.

Getting to and from King Tide House
The property is a 10 to 13-minute drive from the airport, Burnt Pine Village and the Historic Kingston Area.

First-time visitors to Norfolk Island are met at the airport and taken on a short orientation tour of Burnt Pine where cafés, shops, clubs, restaurants, the bank and the supermarket’s locations are pointed out.  The rental car included in the house rental tariff will be awaiting guests in the house garage.  For those who have visited Norfolk Island previously and are happy to drive themselves to King Tide House, the rental car will be available at the airport.

On departure, guests drive themselves to the airport and leave the car in the airport car park prior to checking in for their flight.
     
Kids Policy
King Tide House is suitable for adults only and children aged under 13 years are not accepted.

Check-in: 2:00pm
Check-out: 10:00am  

Deposit and Cancellation Policy
Bullet A deposit equal to the cost of staying 2 nights is
      required on confirmation of booking.
Bullet All cancellations must be made in writing
Bullet Cancellations made greater than 30 days prior
      to scheduled arrival forfeit the deposit paid
Bullet Cancellation made within 30 days of scheduled
      arrival are charged the full amount of the
      accommodation booked.
Bullet No shows are treated as a cancellation and
      charged accordingly.
