NOVEMBER 2015

Hi Carissa,

I'm glad you emailed, I've been meaning to email and thank you for a fabulous location to recharge the batteries!

Mum and I had a mini break to Fiji, flying Air NZ on Friday 30 October and coming home Monday 2 November.  We stayed at the Intercontinental Spa & Resort at Natadola Bay in room 2616 (ie block 26, room 16 - ground floor).

It was 5 star fabulousness and we enjoyed our time thoroughly.  Some points

  • Don't book families into blocks 25 or 26 - it is too far away to be walking back from the pool/beach for forgotten items (but was fine for us - it was the only exercise we got - and was close to the entrance and breakfast, just not so close to the pool/beach - due to the massive size of the resort.  If I was going with my family I'd pay extra and be pool side.
  • I thought it was far better than Denarau - if importance is on a nice beach with a limited time (ie 5 nights or less), send people here - obviously the negatives are that you aren't in Denarau, which is close to Port and other resorts and Nadi for some exploring.  But Robinson Crusoe Island is just around the corner, as is Singatoka Village.  But who wants to leave that resort!!
  • The buffet dinner was FJ$99 pp, so expensive, but we had a dinner at the Yatule Resort 200m down the beach, which cost FJ$89 for both of us - entree, two mains and two drinks!  And it was superb!  However there are other options available.
  • The family deal that you have going at the moment with a $600 room credit is a great value holiday!

Again, thanks so much for the holiday.  We had the most relaxing, fabulous time and it was just what we needed to escape reality.

I'll be in touch in March when your winter specials come out - we are looking as going as a family with another family in July/August - probably 7 nights to Plantation or some island family friendly like that.

Cheers
Bronwen
