AUGUST 2015

Bula Carissa,

Yes it was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun! All our travel documents were well prepared and this made our transfers so easy - thank you!

We stayed at Plantation Island as a family of 4 with children aged 10 and 12. Our 2 bedroom garden room was very spacious and was centrally located for beach, eating and swimming. The pool rooms are very close to the pool so you would hear and see people at your door all day - not so private...
The resort is definitely child friendly with the staff often taking push chairs for walks around the dining room and holding babies while parents sorted siblings with food from the buffet. With this in mind the resort is not precious - children can move about freely with out fear of damaging things. Our children only did one kids club activity for half an hour as we were looking forward to doing things together as a family, with our children being a bit older we didn't have the need for it. But we did see a lot of happy children participating in the activities.

My husband and I were a little disappointed with the restaurant food in the resort. In particular the juice was raro or cordial pre mixed with water stuff, it reminded me of school camp. And the food was just not the fresh Island flavours we were expecting - I think we need to remember it is a three star resort. We were pleased we didn't pre purchase a meal plan as we walked up to Muskit Cove resort for two evening meals and they were great. Pricey, but good food. and a good childrens menu too and great cocktails and mocktails with fresh juice.

All the watersport activities at Plantation were fantastic and the three pools were great also, we all enjoyed the pools. It was easy to book activities on and around the Island. The staff were lovely. I would recommend the Sand Bank snorkel trip, this was where we saw the best fish. They have great snorkel gear for use for the duration of your stay so no need to take your own. We also did a scuba dive but the fish at the sand bank were better.

The bottled water is not expensive and they have a water station to re fill your water bottles - so no need to carry heavy bottles of water to the Island! You can take food and drinks to enjoy in your room. Something we would do more of next time. There is a small supermarket at the resort and it's not too bad for price.

Overall a very memorable and relaxing family holiday.

Kind Regards
Mandy Erskine.
