A stay at Valé Valé Beachfront Villas gives you a great opportunity to really enjoy much of the wonderful local atmosphere of Vanuatu from a luxurious base. The property, which comprises 8 gated, absolute beachfront villa-style accommodation units, lines a delightful little beach right over the road from a local village and every unit faces the beach and the ever-changing tidal bay with the ocean beyond. Facing south, the property catches the trade wind breezes, so guests don’t always need to turn on the air-conditioning to keep cool.
A feature of the bay out front is the fish-trap structure of to one side. In the tidal lagoon one can often see turtles, beautiful little seahorses and perhaps even a grazing dugong (sea cow). The local village people and kids are often seen fishing and playing in the bay and in the surf beyond. The water is clear and clean and the swimming and snorkelling is great at all tides and although you have to wade out a bit at low tide to get enough water to snorkel, it’s definitely worth the effort.
Mornings and evenings are special at Valé Valé, The calm of the tropical mornings is so relaxing and the evening sunsets are usually picturesque either from your veranda or better still, from the top of the hill behind.
Valé Valé is run by a Vanuatu hospitality industry identity – Joy has a great reputation in the Vanuatu holiday accommodation industry and we’re delighted that she is looking after Valé Valé. Ask Joy how long she has been assisting visitors to enjoy Vanuatu and she’ll tell you that it’s been most of her 37 years (she’s been telling us the same for quite some years now!) We reckon that guests at Valé Valé get the most out of their holiday if they are prepared to engage a little with the staff and the village people and by getting Joy to assist with any arrangements they may need. Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance getting to and from local or Port Vila restaurants or the tourist places on the rest of Efate, ask for advice on any tourist matter or seek personal assistance – by doing this you will add immeasurably to a stay in Vanuatu and Valé Valé in particular. A staff member will take you out in a kayak to where the turtles usually gather and another staff member takes a village and garden tour (usually after raking the beach each day). Of course, your privacy is respected by all if you prefer to enjoy your holiday in your own space and in your own style.
Valé Valé Beachfront Villas are self-catering and every villa has a full kitchen. An amazing breakfast is delivered every day to your villa at a time to suit you. The breakfast comprises fresh fruit and fruit juice, toast, preserves, yogurt, tea/coffee and there is always a nice surprise addition such as croissants or a banana fritter or maybe pancakes – something different every day. To sit on your veranda partaking of this breakfast and enjoying the waking of the tropical day is one of the many pleasures of a stay at Valé Valé. Every veranda has an outdoor dining setting as well as lounging furniture and off to one side the individual plunge pool which is a feature of every villa at Valé Valé. If you give yourself more than a day or two to stay at Valé Valé (and we strongly suggest you do) you will probably need to get in meal supplies, so do what the villagers do, hop on what we call a taxi bus into Port Vila and shop at Au Bon Marche or one of the other supermarkets and the local produce market.
This is a very pleasant spot and very highly rated accommodation. It’s a little out of town and the road to and from Port Vila can be a bit rough in places. Once settled in most guests spend their days relaxing, swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, snorkelling and enjoying the surrounding, but, when you do go out and about taking in the sights and experiences of Vanuatu, it is a delight to return to 5 Star Valé Valé and your own spacious little haven. Note re Vanuatu Tourism Levy
In order to assist the development of tourism in Vanuatu, there is a Tourism Levy of 0.05% added to all nightly room charges. This charge may either be added to the tariff and included in the prepaid accommodation cost, or in some cases, collected direct from guests at checkout. The actual amount payable depends on room tariffs and ranges from around NZ$1.00 per night per room to around $5.00 per night per room for the more expensive properties.

Your Accommodation Options
Every Villa has a high-pitched ceiling which aids the feeling of light and space. Floors are ceramic tiled. Every Villa has a full kitchen with a fridge/freezer and a stove and 4 element cook-top. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and there are ceiling fans in both the lounge and outside on the covered veranda/patio.
The sizeable verandas are a feature of every villa at Valé Valé. Each one is only 3-4 steps from the beach and each one has the signature plunge pool but also sun lounger-style day beds and a table setting – a great place for breakfast.
Each villa is a stand-alone building and is entered via a private gate into a walled back patio. The villas are all built beneath beautiful tropical trees which give shade right down to the beach side. All villas face the same way - towards the beach and the lagoon and each is screened from its neighbours out front on each side as well as from the road.

One Bedroom Villas:
A full kitchen, a spacious lounge and a separate bedroom are features of every One Bedroom Villa. Each has a large veranda facing the beach and a private-use plunge pool.

Honeymoon Villa:
Similar to the other One Bedroom Villas but with some little romantic décor features and a personal-use plunge pool on the veranda. The tariff of the Honeymoon Villa is only slightly higher than the tariff of a One Bedroom Villa.

Two Bedroom Villas:
Each of the 3 Two Bedroom Villas is 100m2 in area with 2 separate air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a locking door. There is 1 bathroom.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 Adults
Existing Bedding: A King Bed in one bedroom and either
a King Bed or 2 Single Beds in the second bedroom.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
Getting to and from Valé Valé Beachfront Villas:
We will include return airport transfers in package arrangements as required/agreed. Options are seat-in-vehicle or private vehicle transfers.
The road into Valé Valé Beachfront Villas can be quite rough and pot-holed at certain times of the year but traffic is not normally heavy and drives quite slowly. Interestingly the slow road seems to add to the feeling of seclusion and privacy for your stay. If you were to drive yourself, a trip into Port Vila town should take around 10 minutes, but if you don’t rent a car, you can happily rely on the local taxi-bus service which costs 150 Vatu (under $2) per person between Valé Valé and town, but depending on the route taken and the stops along the way, the trip can take up to 20 minutes, so relax, it’s part of the experience of a holiday in and around Port Vila! Being close to a village means there are a good number of taxi-buses around all through the day, however, the number does drop off in the evenings as local people tend not to move about so much after dark.
The closest restaurant is at Paradise Cove Resort to which you can walk in around 20 minutes, but better still, chat to the Valé Valé manager who will be only too pleased to arrange appropriate transfers to anywhere for her guests.
Families and Kids
Valé Valé Beachfront Villas is an adults-only property which accepts children aged 12 years and older. Although children aged under 11 years are not catered for, families with teenage children generally find this a rewarding holiday experience. The quality “back to nature” atmosphere where every family member has space to enjoy the beach and the amazing natural environment of the lagoon away from, but not totally cut off from social media etc., seems to work well for most families with older children.
