Exceptional boutique accommodation on Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu, Moyyan sits on soft white sand and is canopied by ancient hardwood trees. A welcoming warm blue sea stretches out from the shore. Moyyan is situated on the East Coast Road of Santo, 20 minutes from the airport and the main town of Luganville, en route to many of the island’s attractions including Champagne Beach, Port Olry and Santo’s famous Blue Holes.
The resort is easily accessible by road. Car hire is available, but not necessary. Many guests take advantage of our free airport transfers, and find the best way to explore the island is with the local, flexible tour companies. Typically, guests stay at Moyyan for five or six nights, and will spend about half that time diving or exploring. The remaining time is usually spent relaxing ‘at home’ and using the resort equipment.
Moyyan consists of six free standing king farés, a restaurant with a large deck, and a worldclass day spa. We accommodate a maximum of twelve (12) in house guests. Each faré has a king sized bed, private deck area with giant hammock, views to the sea (except The Garden), large walk-through bathroom and ceiling sweep fan. Rooms are serviced daily and all linen, including towels and beach towels, is provided. Guests at Moyyan are welcome to use all resort equipment with our compliments, including WiFi, in house movies, stand-up paddleboards, clear bottom kayaks, snorkelling equipment and mountain bikes.

Our Thoughts on Moyyan House by the Sea
We have visited this lovely little resort many times over recent years and every time we see it the more we are impressed with the whole place; the standard of the rooms, the food and wine on offer, the spa, the superb location and the friendliness of all the staff.
In the context of a small resort on a major outer island of Vanuatu, Moyyan is intimate and tropically elegant. The rooms are crisp and clean and so relaxing with modern, polished timber floors, banks of polished wood louvres, white painted walls and white cathedral ceilings contrasting with the timber shutters and floors and modern furnishings. Interiors flow almost seamlessly out to well-sized, furnished decks and a giant hammock. Bathrooms are gleaming and fresh with a nice walk-through shower. Farés are not air-conditioned, but air-conditioning is not really required; the walls of louvre windows assist flow-through ventilation, the beautiful big trees provide a shady canopy above the farés and the ceiling fan assists the movement of air around the roomy interiors when the sea breezes drop away.
There’s a total feeling of wellbeing about Moyyan. This flows from the mostly deserted beach and bay which is bordered by the hushed tropical forest, the beautiful trees and gardens surrounding and shading the resort and the layout and high standard of the farés and their decking. The intimate spa and the central facility with its beachfront restaurant terrace facing the bay all add to the laid-back quality ambience of Moyyan.
Depending on your holiday needs, you can be as active or inactive as you please. The location is central to most of the attractions of Santo and Moyyan have a very good group of local operators they work with to provide their guests with guided excursions to see and experience these attractions. Having the east coast road sealed all the way from Luganville to Port Olry has greatly improved travel for locals and visitors alike. To fully appreciate and benefit from a visit to Moyyan House and Santo, we recommend you give yourself enough time to really relax and get into “Santo Mode”. Because there are no direct flights between Auckland and Santo (it is possible to fly direct into Santo from Brisbane) you will probably use Santo as an add-on to a stay in Port Vila or environs and that’s enjoyable, but don’t overlook the other option of transiting Port Vila for a night or two in each direction and spending the bulk of your holiday at Moyyan on Santo. The year-round Stay 7/Pay 6 Special at Moyyan is worthwhile considering.
Summing up our thoughts on Moyyan – without wishing to overstate it too much, the quiet little cove location and the farés are gorgeous, the restaurant is really lovely too but one of the nicest things about a stay at Moyyan is the feeling you get of being part of something quite special in the context of a Vanuatu holiday experience.

While there is no doubt that “The Ocean” and “The Beach” farés are superbly located amongst the mature tropical trees giving guests ocean or beach views, “The Garden” is also lovely in its slightly more secluded location within the tropical garden and “The Deck” provides guests with ready access to the central facility housing the reception lounge and the beachfront restaurant. No matter which faré you choose, you can be assured of a perfectly restful holiday in beautiful natural surroundings.

Getting to and from Moyyan House by the Sea
Moyyan is perfectly located for a holiday on Santo, right on the coast and only 15/20 minutes by sealed road from Luganville and 15 minutes from Santo’s amazing Blue Holes. The tariff at Moyyan includes airport pick-up and drop-off. It is easy to rent a vehicle to explore Santo on your own, but we would recommend you consider taking tours with a local operator to get the most out your stay. The Tour Desk people at Moyyan are very helpful and knowledgeable on all Santo’s many attractions including Port Olry, Lonnock and Champagne Beaches as well as the many dive operators and dive sites available.
The complimentary-use mountain bikes at the resort are also a great way to get around.

Moyyan House by the Sea is an adults-only resort. Only guests aged 16 years or over are accepted at this property.

In reality, check in/out is dictated by arriving and departing flight times. Sometimes guests need to vacate their rooms by 10:00am due to the need to get accommodation ready for another arrival, but the resort managers can usually offer a room to shower and change in before guests leave for the airport, but this is always subject to the circumstances on the day of departure.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
Cancellations made between 15 and 21 days of scheduled arrival incur a
cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total cost of the accommodation booked.
Cancellations made within 14 days of scheduled arrival and no-shows incur a
cancellation fee equal to 100% of the total cost of the accommodation booked.
