OUR Thoughts on CoCo Beach Resort.
Another delightful holiday spot in the Port Vila environs.  Vanuatu is full of surprises when it comes to the location of wonderful places to holiday and CoCo Beach in Paradise Cove is another we have found for you to consider.  CoCo Beach is on the mainland of Efate Island on the north coast of Pango Peninsular facing the sunsets over Mele Bay and the open sea.  Immediately off to the right (when facing the sea from CoCo Beach) is Ifira Island (a residential island) which shelters the Port Vila Cruise Ship Wharf and forms part of Port Vila Harbour which enfolds Iririki Island Resort and Port Vila itself. Staying at CoCo Beach Resort you feel you are on some small tropical island miles from anywhere, but Port Vila Town and its surrounding attractions are easily accessible by land or via the terrific Water Taxi service based at CoCo Beach which whisks you to and from town in 20 minutes.

CoCo Beach Resort offers a pleasant beachfront restaurant and bar, a swimming pool surrounded by decking runs down one side of the restaurant.  Of the farés (as the individual bungalows are known), the 4 air-conditioned Beachfront Farés are arranged along the front of the resort with the 5 Ocean View Farés in a staggered pattern behind, providing occupants with pleasant filtered ocean views from their veranda patios. The 6 Garden Farés are just a little further back but still very handy to the water. 

The beach sand at CoCo Beach is a mixture of white sand and little weathered pieces of coral which results in the water of the bay out front of the resort being beautifully clear

The bay is protected from fishing and relatively untouched which means there are significant amounts of very healthy coral ecosystems with heaps of fish of all colours waiting to be seen.  The coral ecosystems are easily accessible via the complimentary-use resort kayaks or by simply swimming and snorkelling out from the beach.  When enjoying the restaurant and bar, it is not unknown, during the whale migration season, to see a whale passing by out in the bay.  This is also a pleasant spot to watch the cruise ships passing close by on their way in and out of Port Vila Harbour.

The restaurant at CoCo Beach is well known for its food and, if staying for a few days, you might also like to try “The Nakamal” Restaurant at Paradise Cove Resort which is only 350 metres along the road.

CoCo Beach Resort is an adults-only resort, which doesn’t cater for children aged under 12 years, although children of all ages are accepted in the Villa (which has its own private swimming pool).

Your Accommodation Options
The resort has 15 open-plan studio-style Deluxe Farés. Farés are offered in 3 categories – Lush Garden, Delightful Island and Beachfront Bliss. Each type is the same size and offers the same facilities; however, only the Beachfront Bliss Farés are air-conditioned. All farés have plenty of natural cooling with thickly-thatched roofs, louvred windows, high, pitched ceilings and a ceiling fan. Queen beds are festooned in four-poster-style, with insect nets which gives the room a lovely tropical ambience. The faré bathrooms are a feature with their modern appliances and ceramic tile floor matched with the exterior wall built of natural coral rocks.

Lush Garden Farés:
Generous 40m² with view of the tropical gardens.  Furthest from the bay but still very handy to the beach and the hotel pool, restaurant etc.
Lush Garden Farés are cooled by flow-through breezes aided by a ceiling fan.
Beautiful, coral-walled ensuite bathroom with shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed and 1 Single Divan Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

 Delightful Island Farés:
40m², not quite on the beachfront, but with ocean views between the Beachfront Bliss Farés.
Beautiful, coral-walled ensuite bathroom with double vanity and shower.
Two of the Six Deluxe Ocean View Farés are air-conditioned.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed and 1 Single Divan Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

Beachfront Bliss Farés:
40m² and air-conditioned. Each has an exclusive-use sandy area out front, blending (down a few steps) with the beach.
Beautiful, coral-walled ensuite bathroom with double vanity and shower.
All Deluxe Beachfront Farés are air-conditioned.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults

Getting to and from CoCo Beach Resort
The resort is located handy to Port Vila.  To get there by road you will first travel towards Warwick, Le Lagon, then turn off along Pango Road past Breakas and Nasama Resorts before crossing over the Pango Peninsular to Paradise Beach and CoCo Beach Resort.  Depending on the time of year, the road can be a bit rough in places and vehicles will travel slowly, so the travel time will be around 15 to 20 minutes. The local taxi-buses frequently travel this route, so transport opportunity between CoCo Beach Resort and Port Vila by road is frequent and cheap.

However, there is an easier and more relaxing (albeit slightly more expensive) way to travel to and from this remarkable place and that is via the covered pontoon boat water taxis which operate on demand between the little wharf at CoCo Beach Resort and downtown Port Vila. Water taxis from CoCo Beach Resort travel through Mele Bay, past Ifira (residential) Island and Iririki Island Resort, taking approximately 12-minutes to Iririki and 20-minutes to the town commuter jetty via pretty Port Vila Harbour.
