OUR Thoughts on Fare Makana, Maharepa, Moorea
Secure in a gated estate on the north coast of Moorea, Fare Makana is one of two holiday homes we offer in this district - the other being Villa Tiarenui. Fare Makana is surrounded by good quality homes, and while it doesn’t have a beach frontage as such, a beach access path runs from the front of the house directly to the beach which is a mere 100 metres away. At this point, the lagoon on Moorea’s coast is quite sheltered and great for snorkelling and kayaking when the tide is in.
The house itself, is beautifully presented in a Polynesian/Balinese influenced style with light-coloured wood fittings throughout and features an open-plan layout with high ceilings, wooden trellis screens and extensive decking. A feature of the house is an illuminated glass floor in a portion of the lounge which provides a view of a pretty, dry coral bed immediately below. The ground floor houses the living room and a modern kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on this level. A third bedroom is located on the mezzanine which overlooks the living area. The fourth bedroom is in a separate building, which, while not being joined to the house, is very much integrated with the main building by timber decking. This fourth bedroom has an ensuite bathroom.

The Maharepa area of Moorea is on the northern coast of the island – a long stretch of coastline featuring beautiful beaches and small bays punctuated near the centre of the coast by a large inlet known as Cook’s Bay. Many of Moorea’s world-class resorts are found along the norther coast, however, the majority of these are located further towards the western end whereas Maharepa is at the eastern end, very handy to the Moorea’s golf course. Maharepa is a desirable residential area and many of the high-quality homes there are owned by residents of Papeete (on the island of Tahiti) which makes them available to be enjoyed by international visitors when the owners are not using them for personal holidays. In Maharepa, you find a number of cafés and markets, some of which are walking distance from Fare Makana, but we do recommend you have us organise a rental vehicle for you to give you easy access to the golf course as well as the Champion Supermarket which is approximately 3km away along the northern coast and the many beautiful sites on Moorea.

Minimum stay requirements
Fare Makana requires a minimum 2 nights stay year- round, with the exception of any stays which include 22 December to 03 January when the minimum stay requirement is 5 nights.

This new holiday home in Moorea is only at few steps off a beautiful white sand beach with shallow clear waters lagoon. The beach is accessible thanks to a path situated right in front of the property.
The holiday home, Fare Makana, sleeps comfortably 8 persons in 4 double beds. We recommend it for one or two families.
The property has air conditioning in the bedrooms and fans are also available.
This vacation rental has no fence around but the garden is nicely planted and the neighborhood quiet and lovely.”

Accommodation Arrangements
Fare Makana has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main house offers 3 bedrooms (one of which is on the mezzanine floor) and 2 bathrooms. The fourth bedroom (with ensuite) is a stand-alone studio which is integrated with the house via the wooden decking between the 2 buildings. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and beds feature drop-down insect netting.

Existing Bedding: 1 large double Bed in each bedroom
The beds do not split into single beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding or cot/s available.
Getting to and from Fare Makana
Guests are met at Moorea Airport or the Ferry Terminal by a representative of the home’s letting agent and either driven the 5-minute transfer to Fare Makana. We recommend that you arrange for us to organise a rental vehicle (the cost of which can be included in your holiday package arrangements) for the length of your stay as there is no reliable public transport on Moorea and you really don’t get to experience the full vibe of Moorea while enjoying the convenience of a Holiday Home stay if you are not mobile. Rental vehicles may be picked up at the ferry terminal and once you have your vehicle, the letting agent will show you the way to Fare Makana, open the house and give you a guide of the services and facilities available.

Property Booking & Cancellation Policies
To confirm a booking a 30% deposit is required once the
property has confirmed space is available.
Bookings made within 30 days of scheduled arrival must
be paid in full once the property has confirmed space
is available
All cancellations must be made in writing
Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to check-in
date incur a cancellation fee of 7,160CFP.
Cancellations made between 30 and 45 days of scheduled
arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to 30% of the cost
of services booked.
Cancellations made within 30 days of scheduled arrival
incur a cancellation fee equal to 100% of the cost of
services booked.
No Shows are treated as cancellations and charged
accordingly.
