LE BORA BORA by PEARL RESORTS
Our Resort Report

Our Thoughts on Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, Motu Tevairoa, Bora Bora
Motu Tevairoa is a fairly big island compared to the majority of the islands which border the Bora Bora Lagoon – previously known as Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort, Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts is the only resort on the island and is located on the south-eastern corner facing Fa’anui Bay on the mainland with Mt Otemanu beyond.  As with all the islands around the Bora Bora Lagoon, you are only 5 minutes by boat off the mainland.  Access between the mainland and the island is by complimentary Resort Shuttle Boat and there are up to 19 scheduled shuttle boat services a day between 8:15am and 11:00pm.

The TĀVAI Spa and fitness centre is set in a very quiet section of the gardens, around 200 metres away from the Central facility and is a major attraction of this resort providing a very comprehensive range of spa treatments and massage as well as in-room massage if you prefer.

In early 2018, Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts added a unique new feature - a solar-powered catamaran lagoon cruise boat, the "Okeanos Pearl". Okeanos Pearl provides romantic day and evening cruises on Bora Bora's spectacular lagoon - the absence of any motor noise added to the warm smiles of the crew, the fabulous Tahitian music, the fragrance of Tiari Tahiti flowers floating on the breeze and a chilled glass of wine all produce a very special ecperience.

We like the long list of complimentary activities on offer, such as the movie theatre, petanque, tennis court, mini-golf, games room with pool table, table tennis table, snorkelling gear, volleyball, kayaks and canoes.  There is also a huge list of optional (paid) activities too, everything from Scuba Dive to mountain climbing.

There is a very pleasant “Friendly Polynesian” flavour to this place – everyone working there seems happy and pleased to see you. For a property with only 80 rooms it provides a good range of dining and entertainment options, and of course, for those staying longer than 2 or 3 days, the mainland restaurants are easy to access for an added dining option.  Full American Breakfast is included in the nightly tariff we offer.

What Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts Say About Themselves:
“Bora Bora Pearl Resort & Spa becomes Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts
A brand new visual identity for a newly renovated hotel, with refined touches combining modernity and authenticity, recently becoming a member of Relais & Chateaux.  It was important to us that our identity symbolizes this new chapter in which Le Bora Bora is passionately committed.

Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, The Fiery one.

Le Bora Bora is red, its symbol is the circular flame of the dance, the beating heart od a peerless culture in the South Seas.  Our flagship hotel on the Pearl of the Pacific, a new member of Relais & Chateaux, is the place to discover the passion that inhabits French Polynesia.

Motu Tevairoa, a coral islet in the barrier reef, a 20-minute boat ride from Bora Bora airport and 15-minutes from the village of Vaitape, is a perfect location with no immediate neighbor.

Mount Otemanu stands on the horizon, a few sails go by, dotting the sea with color.  At sunset, the glowing sun takes centre stage while dancers and musicians get ready.  The guardians of ora Tahiti perform otea and aparima.  The fire knife dancers undulate, and master the flames.

Our hotel offers 108 bungalows, suites and villas in traditional Polynesian style, perched on stilts, set on the beach or nestled in private gardens, where natural materials are the rule.  Its serene elegance and understated sophistication are worthy of its recent entrance in the Relais &Chateaux.

Hidden from view, our visitors on the motu can enjoy many activities in or on the water, at the spa for a sauna or a massage, on our sports courts or at the fitness centre.

Whether in our 3 restaurants, at the spa or at reception, whether they are a wine steward, a massage therapist or a guide, every day our staff demonstrate their passion for their country and traditions.  All of them are guardians of the flame, the flame they tap into to give you the warmest welcome.”

Your Accommodation Options
Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts offers a wonderful range of accommodation options which make a decision on which one best suits individual requirements quite a challenge – let’s try to assist you.

Of the 108 accommodation units, 29 are land-based and 78 are built out over the Bora Bora Lagoon.  The land-based bungalows and suites are the slightly cheaper option but don’t be fooled into thinking they are a second-best option as all the accommodation at this resort is a high standard and each one has unique features.

All 20 of the Garden Pool Villas are, as the name suggests, located in the extensive resort gardens, handy to the magnificent Manea Spa, the tennis court, the lobby, restaurants, swimming pool and a pleasant interior lake. They offer a large private courtyard garden (which the bedroom opens out to) which provides for superb indoor/outdoor living comprising extensive decking with separate furnished open and roof-shaded areas for relaxing, as well as a private plunge pool.  The bathroom is on the back of the Pool Suite and has its own private courtyard with indoor/outdoor shower.

The 8 Beach Pool Villas are quite different and very special.  Located right on the beach with the bedroom and lounge facing the lagoon and framed on one side, (but not overwhelmed) by the Overwater Bungalows. Each Beach Suite offers a view out towards romantic Mt Otemanu on “the mainland”. Guests literally step straight out of their lounge on to the beach. Beach Villas have an amazing private rear courtyard which opens behind the bedroom to a big bathroom to one side with an indoor/outdoor shower and extensive private sundecks complete with Jacuzzi Pool.

The 5 categories of Overwater Bungalows are all the same layout and high standard and there isn’t a dramatic price differential between them.  What difference there is between the categories is due to their location along the overwater pontoons and their outlook. The “Overwater Bungalow” units are generally closest to the land and provide views up the lagoon. The Lagoon Overwater Bungalows are located further out on the lagoon and provide extensive views down the lagoon. The Otemanu Overwater Bungalows are even further out along the pontoon and have great views over to Mt Otemanu and the “End of Pontoon Overwater Suites are just that – a group of 2 suites right at the end of two of the pontoons and this gives guests staying in this category totally unhindered views out over the lagoon and the mountain and the privacy of virtually no passing foot traffic on the boardwalk.

All bungalows and suites are air-conditioned as well as having ceiling fans and flow-through ventilation.  All are built in a modern Polynesian style with light-coloured walls and vaulted ceilings with a thatched roof, polished wooden plank floor and a spacious bathroom.  There is very little difference in bedding configurations and maximum occupancy policies between the various accommodation types, the main difference being that in Garden Villas with Pool and Beach Villas with Pool allow a single rollaway bed to be added which makes them an ideal choice for a family comprising 2 adults and 2 children.
