OUR Thoughts on Aga Reef Resort, Main South Coast Road, Lalomanu, Upolu, Samoa
Not all that many years ago, this part of Upolu, Samoa’s main island, was somewhat off-the-beaten-track for holidaymakers (of course, the locals knew all about it and many had beach fales out here for weekend stays away from Apia), now, overseas visitors are catered for as well and more and more are enjoying the scenery and serenity of Upolu’s south-east coast.

Aga Reef Resort is located near Lalomanu Village in a beautiful secluded coastal area where the road runs almost beside the lagoon and the amazing tropical jungle on the cliffs behind seems to brush the shore. This is a perfect setting for a relaxing Samoan holiday.   Aga Reef Resort is located along the lagoon front and has a line of Waterfront Villas above the rocky shore at one end and the reception, restaurant and bar at the other end. 

The restaurant opens on to a lovely wooden deck which provides the option of indoor or outdoor dining. Their horizon swimming pool is set into the deck above the beach and the white sand beach is accessed directly off the deck by steps beside the pool.  There is also a sandy cove immediately in front of the pool down 9 concrete steps, the lower the tide the more sand there is to be found here. 

This cove provides a sheltered spot to snorkel and kayak and is a great place from which to enter the Resort Lagoon and the perfectly clear lagoon waters, home to a plethora of tropical fish living amongst the coral rocks on the lagoon floor. On the other side of the resort's lagoon, there is a little island which is accessed by a short causeway and bridge from the restaurant area.  This island (Meti's Island) is a signature feature of Aga Reef Resort and it is the location of the 3 “Island Villas” which face in towards the resort lagoon.

Room Categories
 Ocean Breeze Hotel Rooms:
The Hotel Room block is located on a slight rise behind the Waterfront Villas.  The Hotel Rooms are reasonably close to the road but there is a high hedge shielding the resort from the road, so road noise is not an issue. Hotel Rooms have interconnecting doors which can be opened wide which makes them ideal for a family sharing 2 rooms or for a couple seeking suite-style accommodation.
Each ensuite bathroom has a shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated

 Waterfront Villas:
The 4 Waterfront Villas are individual buildings spread along the front of the resort lagoon.  Each Waterfront Villa is an open-plan space with the bathroom at the back and a beautiful big veranda/balcony out front which is almost over the water.  The whole Villa is raised a little off the ground on piles and from the interior of the Villa as well as from the balcony; guests get the feeling of floating above the lagoon.  The outlook is towards the resort’s own island and over the island to the natural lagoon and the reef and the ocean beyond.
Ensuite bathrooms have a shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults and 1 Child aged 3 to 11 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be added for a child sharing.

 Island Villas:
The 3 Island Villas are similar in almost every aspect to the Ocean View Villas although where they differ is in the sundeck which runs off and below the veranda.  The outlook from the Island Villas is towards the resort and the Ocean View Villas on the other side of the Resort’s Lagoon. Island Villas are accessed via a bridge out front of the central hotel building. Bathrooms have a lovely Cleopatra-style free-standing bath as well as a shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults and 1 Child aged 3 to 11 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be added for a child sharing.

 VIP Villa:
Located at the end of the row of Ocean View Villas, the VIP Villa is quite different in that it sits on a private lawn area which runs down to the beach.  The VIP Villa has a private plunge pool accessed directly from the wrap-around veranda on two sides of the Villa at the front. The view is superb – straight out to sea over the reef to the ocean.
Bathroom has a bath and a shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults only
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding is accommodated.

Getting To and From Aga Reef Resort
Transfer from Faleolo International Airport to Aga Reef Resort by coach or private vehicle will be included in package arrangements as required/agreed.

Kids’ Policy
The Resort is not set up to handle very small children and does not accept guests under 3 years of age.

Check-in/Check-out
Official resort check-in time is 2:00pm
Official resort check-out time is 10:00am
Early Check-In from 6:00am when available, is charged at 50% of the tariff of the accommodation to be occupied.
Late Check-out up to 4:00pm when available, is charged at 25% of the tariff for the accommodation occupied.
Note re early arriving and late departing flights
In order to guarantee immediate access to accommodation from early morning flight arrivals, guests should book and pay for accommodation for the night prior to arrival.
