Our Thoughts on Scenic Matavai’s
Apartments and 3 Bedroom Villa
North Tamakautoga, Niue
The complex is part of the Scenic Matavai Resort (The Main Resort), but, as it is located 1.5 kms away from The Resort, we show it separately to avoid any possible confusion. Guests have full use of all The Main Resort facilities, an easy walk away in the cool of the morning or evening. Guests staying at Scenic Matavai’s Apartments and Matavai Villa can utilise the Main Resort’s facilities. Guests may charge back all Resort services to their guest accounts.
Like the Main Resort, this property enjoys a spectacular cliff-top location and Apartments have a very pleasant ocean outlook. There is a sea-track down to the reef. All the studio units are built in the “Lockwood” style which results in a pleasant “woody” décor, high, sloping ceilings and a feeling of spaciousness.
The 3 Bedroom Matavai Villa is in the style of a residential house, and while it doesn’t offer vaulted ceilings or a sea view, it has the same timber decor and feeling of space and tranquillity as the Studio Apartments.
While guests at the Main Resort enjoy daily tropical breakfasts in their room tariff, guests at Scenic Matavai’s Studio Apartments and the Matavai Villa provide self-catering facilities so resort breakfasts are not included when staying here.
On the face of it, Scenic Matavai’s Apartments are priced a little cheaper than the Main Resort, but, when you take into account the fact that apartments don’t include breakfast in the tariff, pricing is similar. Facilities at the apartment complex are good, including a swimming pool, a guest BBQ and deck as well as guests being able to enjoy all the Main Resort facilities, including the charge-back option.
Your Accommodation Options
The apartment complex itself comprises five individual buildings, each one containing 2 individual open-plan studio rooms with air-conditioning, kitchenette, ensuite bathroom and a balcony with a great view out over the wide bay. The 2 rooms in each block may be interconnected with each other to form a 2 Bedroom Family Apartment which is ideal not only for families but for groups of friends to share. The air-conditioned Scenic Matavai’s 3 Bedroom Villa is a separate building next door to the apartments.

Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 Adults and 2 children aged under 12 years.
Existing bedding: 1 King Bed which can be split into 2 Single Beds plus 1 pull-out double sofa bed.

Two Bedroom Family Apartments (Interconnecting):
Unlocking the interconnecting door between 2 Studio Apartments converts 2 Studio Apartments into a 2 Bedroom Family Apartment with 2 bathrooms.
Maximum occupancy: 6 adults or 4 Adults and 4 children aged under 12 years.
Existing bedding: 2 King Beds, either or both of which may be split into Singles plus 2 pull-out double sofa beds.
Additional Bedding: A complimentary port-a-cot (subject to availability).
The Three Bedroom Matavai Villa
Situated right beside Matavai’s Apartments, the Villa is a modern, Niue-style 3 Bedroom/2 Bathroom house which is ideal for a family or a group of friends to share. Villa guests are welcome to use the Apartments facilities including the swimming pool, BBQ area, trampoline and sea track. Although the Villa has no direct view of the ocean, it is within metres of the Pacific waves crashing against Niue's unique coral cliffs. Chargeback facilities for all services at the Main Resort are available.
The Three Bedroom Villa has a minimum 7 nights stay requirement.

Getting To and From Scenic
Matavai’s Apartments & Matavai Villa
Our Specialists will include return Airport Transfers in package arrangements. Guests staying at Scenic Matavai’s Apartments and Villa are first taken to the Main Resort (together with the Main Resort’s guests) and are treated to a welcome drink there while check-in formalities are concluded.
Kids’ Policy
Kids Stay Free
Children are welcome year-round at Scenic Matavai’s Apartments and 3 Bedroom Matavai Villa. Two children aged under 12 years sharing a 1 Bedroom or a 2 Bedroom Apartment with parents/guardians and sharing a pull-out Sofa Bed are included at no additional cost.
Children are included in the tariff at 3 Bedroom Matavai Villa if the whole party comprises no more than 6 people. Children are charged extra if the party is up to 8 which is the maximum occupancy catered for at the 3 Bedroom Matavai Villa.
Little Kids Eat Free
Children aged under 4 years eat free when dining at The Main Resort with parents/guardians.
50% Meal Discount for Kids aged 4 to 12 years
Children aged between 4 and 12 years qualify for a 50% discount off meals when dining at The Main Resort with parents/guardians.
