OUR Thoughts on Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa,
Complexe Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa is a 4 Star Resort, only one of 2 Resorts actually on the beach at Anse Vate. (The other is Le Meridien which is next door). This is a superb location near the end of Anse Vate where the Promenade Roger Laroque (road) heads away from the beach frontage.

Not quite as handy to the local shops as some properties (especially those which are located over the road from the beach), never-the-less it’s still only a 10-minute walk over to the village, shops, supermarket, restaurants etc.  From here, it’s only a 60 minute stroll right into town if you are so inclined although taxis are quite reasonable in cost so why walk?

Chateau Royal is a great place to stay for those seeking a bit more space than a hotel room provides and the kitchen in each Suite is a very helpful facility for those staying more than a few days and those looking to save a little on meals which can be a little expensive in Noumea, although there are some excellent cheaper meal options too (see our Noumea Destinations pages). It is easy to find food outlets where you can stock up on food items to heat and eat in your Suite at Chateau Royal.

Chateau Royal Beach Resort offers two tariff options –
● Room-only
● Room and Breakfast.
We are happy to quote on either tariff. 
For those choosing the Room and Breakfast tariff, a full Buffet Breakfast is included. The in-house restaurants are very good for lunch and dinner.  On the ground floor of the Resort there are some independent food outlets which are also very handy. For stays from 01 April 2020, the resort has introduced a Breakfast Special Offer whereby guests staying a minimum 4 nights paying for 1 breakfast, receive their next breakfast free.  See "Secials" below for full details.

The Resort offers a good range of facilities for guests.  There is an excellent swimming pool complex, which is almost on the beach; there is also a great little gymnasium and a superb Spa which offers a full range of facilities and services including massage, treatments rooms for singles and couples, hydrotherapy, facials, nails and hairdressing. Chateau Royal offers 6 Reception Rooms which are ideal for meetings/conferences and wedding receptions.

Providing the resort has been notified at the time of booking, all honeymooners celebrating their wedding a maximum of 12 months previous to their arrival at Chateau Royal will receive a 75cl bottle of French Champagne and delicacies with compliments of the resort. Valid in Prestige One Bedroom Suites only. Minimum 3 night stay applies.

Your Accommodation Options
The Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa is a ten-level building complex. They offer one and two bedroom apartment-style suites and have 4 grades of suites – Standard, Resort, Lagoon and Prestige.  The Suites are all of a similar standard, the different grades mark the position of the Suites in the building and the views from each category.  Generally, the Standard and Resort grade Suites are located furthest away from the beach (and that’s not far). Standard Suites have limited views out to the interior of the island and the hill behind the resort, or of the gardens out towards Le Meridien.  Resort grade suites have a peep of the sea off the side of the balcony. The Lagoon Suites are normally located closer to the sea frontage of the building with a good sea view and the Prestige grade suites are right on the sea frontage with wide views of Anse Vate Bay and beyond.

The original Chateau Royal was the normal hotel-style resort with a great many more rooms than it has now.  The new all-suite layout is a vast improvement on the former arrangement. Following its transformation, Chateau Royal now offers 1 Bedroom Suites, the size of 2 of the original hotel rooms, and 2 Bedroom Suites which incorporate 3 of the original hotel rooms.  Every 1 Bedroom Suite has a separate bedroom and separate lounge with a very handy kitchen. A nice big sliding door separates the bedroom from the lounge if required.  In the 2 Bedroom Suites a bedroom, each with its own ensuite bathroom, opens up from each side of the separate lounge/kitchen. The in-room kitchen in all Suites includes a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, a stovetop, a microwave oven and dishwasher as well as a full supply of crockery and cutlery; every Suite has a good-sized balcony.

 Standard 1 Bedroom Suites:
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults and 1 infant in a cot.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: A cot may be added for an infant aged under 3 years.

Superior 1 Bedroom Suites:
Maximum Occupancy: 2 or 3 Adults or 2 Adults and 2 Children aged up to 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Double fold-out Sofa Bed which may be utilised by the third adult or 2 children aged up to 12 years. 
A cot may be added for an infant aged under 3 years.

Superior 2 Bedroom Suites:
Maximum Occupancy: 4 or 5 Adults or 2 Adults and up to 4 Children aged up to 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in 1 bedroom, 2 Single Beds in the second bedroom
Additional Bedding: 1 Double fold-out Sofa Bed (not available in all Lagoon 2 Bedroom Suites) which may be utilised by the fifth adult or 2 children aged up to 12 years. 
A cot may be added for an infant aged under 3 years.


 Prestige 1 Bedroom Suites:
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults. 
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed only
Additional Bedding: A cot may be added for an infant aged under 3 years.


 Prestige 2 Bedroom Suites:
Maximum Occupancy: 4 Adults or 2 Adults and 2 Children
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in 1 bedroom and 2 Single Beds in the other bedroom
Additional Bedding: A limited number of Prestige 2 bedroom Suites have a double-bed-size Sofa Bed in the lounge, which may be utilised for an additional adult or 2 children aged under 12 years.  When booking a suite with a sofa bed the maximum occupancy allowed increases to 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 children aged under 12 years.

 Accessible Rooms:
Chateau Royal offers 1 Standard 1 Bedroom Suite and 1 Resort 1 Bedroom Suite with special accessible facilities.

Getting To and From Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa
Return airport transfers by coach are included in Package Prices as required/agreed. 
Private car airport transfers are available at additional cost. 
It is an easy walk to Anse Vata Village from Chateau Royal.
Local buses are easily accessed – the local bus takes around 20 minutes to travel between Anse Vate and downtown Noumea.
Chateau Royal Beach Resort is located next to the Meridien Casino and 3 km from Noumea Harbour. The Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre is a 10-minute drive and La Tontouta Airport is a 45-minute drive away.
New Dinner Shuttle Bus Service
Chateau Royal has announced an excellent new service - a new Dinner Shuttle Bus service between Chateau Royal and Port Plaisance, downtown Noumea.  The shuttle operates daily every half hour from 5:30pm to 10:00pm and costs approximately NZ$15 per suite – irrespective of the number of guests sharing a suite.  Shuttle bookings are made at Chateau Royal Reception.

Families & Kids
 Kids Stay Free:
Infants aged under 3 years stay free in all accommodation types. A cot for an infant is provided free of charge (subject to limited availability) 
Up to 2 children aged 3 to 11 years stay free when occupying the Sofa Bed in 1 Bedroom Suites.  If adults have purchased the bed and breakfast option, children aged 3 to 11 years utilising the Sofa Bed will be charged for breakfast. See above maximum occupancy and room configurations per room type for guidance.

 Kids Meals:
For lunch and dinner there is a special Kids’ Menu available which provides heavily discounted meals for children aged 3 to 11 years. Infants aged under 3 years eat breakfast free when accompanying a paying adult.

Check out time is 11:00am
Early check-in may be available between 8:00am and 3:00pm at a charge of 50% of the tariff for the room to be occupied.
Late Check-out may be available between 11:00am and 6:00pm at a charge of 50% of the tariff of the room occupied.

Cancellation Policy
 All cancellations must be made in writing
 Cancellations received at Chateau Royal within 72 hours
     of scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to the
     entire cost (100%) of the accommodation booking made.
 Please note that after 24 hours of the guest not showing,
     the hotel reserves the right to resell the room.
 Last minute bookings received during the period normally
     subject to cancellation fees (2 weeks prior to arrival) are
     also subject to those cancellation fees
 Days not used due to premature departure: no refund
