OUR thoughts on Mai Sunset Beach Resort, Naviti Island, Yasawa Islands, Fiji
Located 65 kilometers off the mainland of Fiji. The name of the island is Naviti which forms part of the Yasawa Group.
Escape to the serenity of swaying coconut palms, the sound of the lapping waves, sea breezes and stunning sunsets. Mai Sunset Island Resort is on a small remote island tucked away in the Yasawa Group of Island of Fiji. This charming resort is a haven of natural beauty and warm hospitality where you can experience traditional Fijian culture. We are fortunate to be one of the few locations in the Pacific where the Fijian women casually stroll from the village to collect Sea Grapes, commonly known as ‘Nama’ to the locals, which is then transported and sold to the local markets. When you arrive at Mai Sunset Island Resort, you will be greeted by a true sense of tranquility, from the palm tree lined beach to the lush tropical gardens that lead to your Bure, that have been designed to blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, providing a peaceful and intimate stay for guests. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. Unwind on the beach, enjoy a cocktail or a homemade coconut ice -cream and watch the sun as it slowly descends into the Ocean.
Mai Sunset Island Resort offers an experience that transcends the typical holiday. It’s a place where guests not only indulge in the local produce and flavours but relax and rejuvenate whilst forming true connections to the culture, the land and the beautiful people of Fiji. Note that this resort does not accept children under the age of 5.

Garden Bures:
The Garden Bure at Mai Sunset Beach Resort offers a relaxed and comfortable retreat, ideal for groups of friends or small families travelling together, set up with three single beds. Surrounded by tropical gardens, each room features three individual single beds, made up with fresh linen and comfortable pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep after a day in the sun. Rooms include practical comforts such as individual reading lights and power outlets for charging devices. The ensuite bathroom features a refreshing outdoor shower, allowing you to fully embrace island living.
Another 2 Garden Bure's will be available for travel from 01 April 2027 making the total of 3 Garden Bures.

Beach Bure:
The Beach Bures at Mai Sunset Beach Resort offer a peaceful, beachfront retreat with uninterrupted ocean views. Set amongst the resort’s lush tropical gardens, the rooms feature a comfortable queen bed (no twin share options), along with fun and practical furnishings. Each room is fan-cooled and includes an ensuite bathroom with a refreshing outdoor-style shower, offering a simple yet memorable island experience surrounded by nature. Thoughtfully designed for comfort, these rooms are ideal for couples or single travellers seeking a fun escape with the beach at their doorstep.
Please note this room type has a minimum 2-night stay.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults and 1 Child
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed OR 2 x Single Beds (only 3 Bures can be converted to 2 Singles rather than one queen)

Deluxe 2 Bedroom Beach Bure:
This new room category will be available for stays from 01 April 2027
The 3 x Deluxe 2 Bedroom Beach Bures at Mai Sunset Beach Resort each offer spacious accommodation for both families and adults alike – all with those important uninterrupted ocean views and easy access to the beach.
Set along the beachfront, these rooms feature a large lounge/open plan main bedroom area with a walk-in wardrobe for ample storage space and a separate second bedroom down the hallway. The rooms include an ensuite bathroom with our trademark outdoor-style shower. Thoughtfully designed for comfort, with both fans and air-conditioning, these rooms are generous in size so are ideal for friends or families seeking a quiet escape with the beach at their doorstep.

The are 5 tents avaiable in this room category. Custom-designed exclusively for Mai Sunset Beach Resort, these tent structures with solid beams and a deluxe interior finish are genuine beachfront. Each Beach Tent includes an ensuite bathroom with a refreshing outdoor-style shower, offering a simple yet memorable island experience surrounded by nature. Thoughtfully designed for comfort, these rooms are ideal for couples or friends seeking a fun escape, as they can be set up as either twin-share or double rooms.

Getting to and from Mai Sunset Beach Resort
We are happy to organise any of the following:
Transfer from Nadi International Airport to Port Denarau Marina or Vuda Point Marina by coach or private vehicle to connect to your boat transfer.
Scheduled High-Speed Catamaran Ferry:
The transit is on the “Yasawa Flyer”, a modern, air-conditioned high-speed catamaran ferry with a café on board which operates a daily schedule between Port Denarau and Mai Sunset Beach Resort.
The South Sea Cruises Yasawa Flyer ferry from Port Denarau (25 minutes from Nadi Airport) which departs daily at 8.45am. The Yasawa Flyer arrives at Mai Sunset at around 12.00 pm each day, then heads north, dropping off guests as it makes its way to the top of the Yasawa Islands. In the
afternoon, on its southbound journey back to Port Denarau, it stops to collect departing resort guests at 2.35 pm, arriving back at Port Denarau at 6.00 pm, South Seas Cruise’s high-speed catamaran will transport you to Mai Sunset Beach Resort in 3 hours, 15 mins.
Enjoy air-conditioned spaces, the licensed bar and viewing decks as you journey across the clear lagoons of Fiji’s most beautiful islands. Upgrade to the Captain’s lounge, with air conditioning, snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks. Courtesy coach transfers from/to Nadi International Airport or selected hotels and resorts in Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau regions are available.
Helicopter:
Helicopter transfer can be arranged to and from Nadi International Airport as well as to/from other selected resorts. A private helicopter charter will transport you from Nadi Airport to Mai Sunset Beach Resort in just 30 minutes. Your pilot will meet you at the helipad, just a short walk from the arrivals lounge at Nadi Airport. From there, you’ll enjoy a spectacular scenic flight to Mai Sunset Beach Resort over coral reefs and volcanic ranges.
Kids’ Policy
Only guests aged 5 years and over are accepted at Mai Sunset Beach Resort.

The hotel will make every effort to have your rooms available at your time of check-in but advise that standard check-in and check-out times are fairly strictly adhered to.
