OUR Thoughts on Sofitel Fiji Resort And Spa. Denarau Island, Fiji
Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau Island Fiji is almost a single destination in itself, offering as it does, something for everyone. There is a uniqueness about this place and it’s probably best summed up by the greeting of “Bula – Bonjour” from staff when welcoming guests to the resort. There is no doubt that you are in Fiji with all its natural warmth and friendliness, but from the moment you step into the resort lobby you can’t help but be impressed by the mixing in of French elegance and ambience; there is a definite French Provincial influence and it adds something very pleasant to the Fiji Resort experience.The lobby lounge is very welcoming and once you have settled in it’s a great spot to return to for a quiet read or a good cup of coffee. This level also houses the shopping arcade and the La Parsienne Cafe and the resort shops. Pass down the wide stairs from the lobby lounge (or take the lift) to the ground floor and you enter the heart of the resort – restaurants, bars, extensive Lilly ponds, the Sofitel's enormous spectacular lagoon swimming pool, the full-service day spa, more on-site shopping, Waitui Beach Club out front of the Adults-Only accommodation wings and the spectacular new Niu Kids Beach Club and a water sports centre between the beach and the "Family" accommodation wings. All this set in park-like sweeping lawns and tropical gardens bordering the beach. This whole area is welcoming during the day and especially beautiful at night.
A $50 million dollar renovation of the whole resort is now complete which has seen the entire resort totally upgraded including the rooms, and a number of new elements have been added including a Night Club, Kids Beach Club, water cannons and jets to the main family pool, a rum bar on the beach, a fine-dining adults-only poolside dinner experience in Waitui, a Fiji Airways on-resort check-in area, a new interactive buffet restaurant with no less than 6 live kitchens, a Teen Zone (complete with arcade-style ames) and a brand new Hair and Nail Salon. A new, complimentary wifi facility is now operating throughout the resort's public areas including all of the conference and event venues, the lobby, restaurants, bar and poolside areas.
Dining options at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa are now nothing short of amazing, headlined by 300-seat Bazaar Kitchen & Bar with its 6 interactive live cooking stations in the evening offering the options of Fijian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and American Grill as well as a beautiful dessert station. The main breakfast buffet is also served at Bazaar Kitchen and available to all guests. Continental breakfast is available at the Journal Lounge and is included in the tariff for specific accommodation types and for something entirely different, (paid) a-la-carte breakfast is also served at La Parisienne Cafe. As well as Bazaar Kitchen, dinner options include Waitui Bar & Grill Restaurant for adults-only and the beautiful Solis beachfront seafood restaurant

Your Accommodation Options
Sofitel Fiji Resort offers four main categories of rooms; “Superior”, “Luxury”, "Waitui Beach Club" and "Family" rooms as well as Suites. There are 3, three-level accommodation wings set in an inverted “T” shape to the left of the central facilities and another 3, three-level accommodation wings set in the same inverted “T” shape to the right of the central facilities. The ground floor rooms open directly on to the lawns and gardens from a patio while the middle and upper floor rooms all have a balcony with a pleasant outlook. All rooms are designated “Oceanside” as every balcony and patio faces towards the ocean over the extensive lawns and tropical gardens. The view from the room patios and balconies is of the beautiful pools, lawns and gardens with a filtered sea view through the palm trees and tropical foliage - the sea views are generally more prominent from the middle and upper floors. The beautiful suites are designated “Ocean View” as they are generally located closest to the beach.

SUPERIOR ROOMS
35m2 in size including a good-sized bathroom. Superior category rooms feature a modern Fijian décor theme and differ slightly from the Luxury rooms in their décor and some entertainment facilities. An interconnecting room facility is available. All Superior Rooms are located in the "Family" Wing to the right of the central facility facing the beach.
Superior Rooms 1 King Size Bed Oceanside:
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 1 Child
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed and a fold-out Sofa Bed
Additional Bedding: A cot for an infant may be added free of charge.
Superior Rooms, 2 Queen Size Beds Oceanside:

LUXURY ROOMS
35m2 in size, the Luxury Oceanside Rooms have been given a modern makeover which generally includes a lighter décor and refreshed furnishings and fittings. An interconnecting room facility is available on application.

Located in the Family Wings, In addition to normal facilities, Family Rooms have a two-tiered set of bunks which are suitable for children to occupy and come in two categories:
Family Rooms 1 Queen Bed, 2 Tier Bunk Bed, Oceanside:
The 35m2 Family Rooms feature, in addition to the Queen Bed, an interesting “Child Zone” which contains a two-tiered set of bunks.
These rooms are all located on first and second floors (not the ground floor) of the Family Wing

This room category offers guaranteed ground floor Family Rooms complete with “Child Zone” with its set of bunks. Luxury Family Rooms are 48m2 in area and include an extended private outdoor patio which is an ideal child play area.

● Unlimited "Warrior Experience" per stay per child (available between 5.30pm and 6.30pm)

Adult guests staying in Suites have access to all the Waitui Beach Club facilities.
Prestige Suites: King Size Bed, Ocean View
Large open-plan suites comprising 61m2 of space. The Prestige Suites are located on the ends of the 2 accommodation wings closest to the beach and ocean and have beautiful ocean views. There is a possibility of a connecting a Superior Room.

Getting to and from Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa
We will normally provide coach or private car arrival/departure transfers from/to Nadi International Airport to Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa in package arrangements as required/agreed. However, this is optional and may be omitted should you wish to make your own arrangements on arrival and or departure. Transfer time is approximately 20-minutes.Located adjacent to the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and a pleasant 15-minute stroll either to Port Denarau one way and to The Westin Fiji Resort in the opposite direction. The Denarau Shuttle Bus stops regularly at this and all resorts on Denarau Island making a loop around the Denarau Resorts and Port Denarau. The “Yellow Bus” (public bus) also stops at this resort and provides services to and from Nadi Town. Denarau Taxis are also readily available but be sure to hire a taxi with a fare meter if going off Denarau Island
Families, Kids & Teens
Up to 2 children aged under 12 years stay free of charge when sharing a room with parents using existing bedding. A baby cot can be added to most room types at no additional charge.
Kids are now specially catered for at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. The amazing Niu Kids Beach Club which offers 6 interactive play areas – Wet & Wild, Splash & Play, Artist in Residence, The Chill Zone, Simple Pleasures and The Islander Cabana, along with a climbing wall, trampoline area and play area on the Beach is available at a charge for all children aged 3 to 12 years.
Children staying with parents enjoy complimentary entry to Niu Kids Beach Club when staying in Family Rooms, Luxury Family Rooms, Family Suites and Prestige Suites
Babysitiing services are available at a charge, it is recommended to book 2 hours in advance.
The So Kids Spa which is set up beside the pool is proving very popular with kids. A range of manicures, pedicures or facials in yummy flavours is available as well as hair braiding for girls and boys (charges apply)
Teens are well caterered for too. The Teenage Zone for 12 to 16 year olds features X-Box, PlayStation and arcade games.

Adults-Only Wings
Stay in a Waitui Beach Club Room, the new Waitui Plus Rooms, or any Suite and have full access to the Adults Only Waitui Beach Club. Here, guests enjoy a range of privileges including pool butler service and complimentary sunset cocktails each evening during Happy Hour.
Waitui Beach Club
Exclusively for adults, Waitui Beach Club sets a new up-market standard for Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa. Based around a second separate meandering lagoon pool with 2 beach-style entry points and opening out to a beachfront 25-metre infinity lap pool and beach deck. At one end of the lap pool there is a lounge area and at the other a swim-up bar. There is a large deck and garden area surrounding the lagoon pool on which there are ample sun-loungers, day beds and private cabanas to guarantee pool seating for all guests who qualify to enjoy the Waitui Beach Club facility.

The Journal Lounge
On the site of the former "V" Restaurant, The Executive Journal Lounge is open to guests aged 14 years and over. Open for breakfast and lunch as well as coffee and snacks at various times throughout the day until 10:00pm daily. Guests also enjoy the lounge's Library Corner and quiet work stations. The Journal is available to guests staying in Suites and Waitui Plus Rooms.
