OUR Thoughts on Sands Villas, Titikaveka Beach, Rarotonga
This is a very good option for a perfect Rarotonga holiday for those seeking comfortable, spacious accommodation on a perfect beach in an intimate, friendly atmosphere. When originally built some years ago, the villas at Sands Villas were ground-breaking in their location, size and facilities and they have all stood the test of time remarkably well. What you get here is a spacious 3 bedroom/2 bathroom villa on the “quieter” side of Rarotonga – here the beach and the lagoon are simply splendid and the village people very welcoming. Spend a week or so here and all the pressures of the world seem to just melt away.
We always find that Sands Villas strike exactly the right balance between providing guests with a get-away-from-it-all beach break on a South Pacific Island while enjoying the modern comfort and facilities of a beach house right on the beach. Relax, make your own meals in the fully-equipped kitchen and keep to yourself, or work with the duty host who is available 24 hours to assist you with advice on the attractions, restaurants, activities and events available in Rarotonga.
This is a great location for walking – morning beach walks are a real treat. Wander up the rise over the road to the historic Ara Metua and be surrounded by gardens and plantations, take an evening stroll along the road or the beach past the village, enjoying the many sights along the way – grab an ice cream at the village store.
Sands Villas is a great option for a couple who love space, or a family with older children, 2 couples who prefer to share a unit but which has 2 separate bathrooms or a group of friends holidaying together. The 3 villas will sleep a total of 18 adults in comfort which makes Sands Villas an ideal choice for a wedding party or a birthday party group and it can’t be bettered for a family reunion holiday.

Sands Villas has a 3-night minimum stay policy.
Your Accommodation Options
The 3 villas at Sands Villas all have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All villas have a pleasant view of the Titikaveka beach and lagoon. Two of the villas are right on the beach frontage and the third is more private being located only steps back from the beach. The Hibiscus and Coral Villas are octagonal in shape with a large open-plan living space and 3 bedrooms. Hibiscus and Coral Villas open on to decks on 4 of their 8 sides. The Vaka Villa is more conventional in its layout but still offers lovely decks and an open and airy living space. All are very spacious and the prices are all the same. All the bedrooms in all the villas are air-conditioned - the living area is fan-cooled. Every villa has a laundry and private BBQ.

Getting to and from Sands Villas
Arrival and departure airport transfers will be included in package arrangements as required/agreed. Options for airport transfers include seat-in-vehicle (shared) and private car transfers. Sands Villas have rental car packages available for your full stay or for a part of your stay. The Tour Desk people are happy to organise rental motor scooters, cars and bicycles.
The Round-Island Bus services stop on demand right outside Sands Villas. The bus service operates both clockwise and anti-clockwise every hour - morning to late afternoon. The trip on the bus into Avarua (the main town) takes 20-minutes ant-clockwise and 25-minutes clockwise. The bus also operates a restaurant service in the evenings.
From Sands Villas it is an easy walk to Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel which has a very pleasant little restaurant open for breakfasts and dinners and there is a village convenience store nearby.
Kids Policy
Children are very welcome at Sands Villas. This property runs on a flat rate nightly tariff for up to 3 guests of any age per villa with additional guests (maximum 3 including children) also charged at a flat rate irrespective of age. Cots (booked as part of your package arrangements) are available for hire on a per night basis. Guests are welcome to bring their own portacot for a baby aged up to 23 months, at no additional charge.

Early Check-in and Late Check-out:
Early check-in between 6:00am and noon and late check-out up to 6:00pm, when available, is charged at a flat rate per villa.
