OUR Thoughts on Muri Beach Resort, Muri Beach, Rarotonga
This pleasant little family-owned resort offers a holiday experience right on Muri Beach. What you get staying here is a well-appointed villa or apartment set in a location next door to their sister property – Nautilus Resort and within walking distance of all the facilities and attractions on offer along Muri Lagoon and Muri Beach. All of the 20 units are air-conditioned and have a ceiling fan. Over recent years in Rarotonga, there has been a trend towards only the very cheap or the most up-market accommodation units offering a self-catering option, so, it is quite refreshing to find a moderately priced resort which still offers cooking facilities in all units. Another feature of Muri Beach Resort is that Villa and apartment bathrooms all offer a Jacuzzi Spa Bath as well as a shower.
The resort is fairly compact in size but still manages to offer a good range of facilities and services, including a 12m x 6m swimming pool, a games and book library, wifi, guest BBQs, snorkelling gear, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, reef shoes and beach towels, an activities desk to assist guests make the best of their Rarotonga holiday and a beautiful furnished sundeck on the beachfront overlooking Muri Lagoon for all guests to enjoy. A new addition to the resort is the Aqua Beach Bar, perched on the edge of Muri Lagoon - overlooking turquoise waters and palm-fringed islands of muri lagoon. The perfect location to watch the day go by or sip on a cocktail as the sunsets.
And if you want to experience gourmet dining - the award-winning Nautilus Restaurant next door in the up-market sister hotel Nautilus Resort, welcomes Muri Beach Resort guests to dine or if you need some pampering, book a therapy at the Spa Nautilus day spa.
Having the Nautilus Resort next door is a bonus and Muri Beach Resort guests taking the "Premium Service" option which includes full breakfast daily, take their breakfast at Nautilus Resort, accessing this superb lagoon-front restaurant/bar complex via an opening in the hedge between the two properties.
Choice of Tariff Plans:
Muri Beach Resort offers a choice of tariff plans – either “Self Service” or “Premium Service”.
Premium Service:
Premium Service includes daily full breakfast (taken at the Nautilus Resort next door) and rooms serviced daily. Full breakfast includes any choice from the Tropical Buffet plus a plate Hot Breakfast option.
Self Service:
Self Service does not include breakfast or daily room servicing. Full breakfast may be purchased at Nautilus Resort next door any day it is required. Changes of towels and bed linen and replacement cleaning materials etc may be picked up at Reception at no additional charge.
Minimum Stay Policy:
Muri Beach Resort has a year-round 4-nights minimum stay policy. The 4 nights minimum policy requires guests to stay at least 4 consecutive nights in the same villa or apartment.
Your Accommodation Options
Each unit is self-contained with a kitchenette and dining area. The kitchenette includes a full-size fridge/freezer, microwave oven and cook top and UV treated drinking water on tap. The open-plan Studio Villas have a defined sleeping zone in a semi-enclosed bedroom. All accommodation is air-conditioned as well as having a ceiling fan and flow-through ventilation through fully screened doors and windows. Bathrooms have a Deluxe Jacuzzi spa bath and separate tiled shower. Every unit has a TV & DVD player, a multi-channel In-house TV, wifi access, clock radio and hair dryer as well as complimentary tea, coffee & sugar supplies. Outside there is a covered patio, an outdoor table, chairs and private sun lounges.
Currently there are only 22 accommodation units on this beachfront location, so no unit is very far away from the beach. Some of the Garden Villas have a glimpse of the water, but you can guarantee a water view by taking Lagoon View or Beach Front accommodation types and you won’t have to break the bank to do so either. The term “Villa” usually denotes a stand-alone unit. All units are solar powered.
Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
Garden Villas:
Stand-alone villas facing the lawn fronting the lovely tropical gardens or beside the pool. At around 48m2 the Garden Villas are comfortable. One or two are a little bigger and will take an additional child bed. UV treated drinking water on tap.
Ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi Spa Bath and separate shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed & 1 Single Bed.
Additional Bedding: A child bed or a cot may be added to some units but this does not increase the maximum occupancy allowed.
2 "Deluxe" Garden Villas are a little bigger and comfortably sleep a family of 4
Lagoonview Villas:
The modern 35m2 Lagoonview Villas are best suited for singles or couples, this room will take an additional Single Bed which makes them suitable for those up to 2 adults and 1 child sharing. All have a partial lagoon view from the balcony.

Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults and 1 child
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed or 1 Queen and a Single Bed.
Additional Bedding: A cot may be substituted for the single bed..
Beachfront Apartments:
The 2 Beachfront Apartments are 35m2 and located in a two-level walk-up building on the beach frontage. Beachfront Apartments are best suited to couples. UV treated drinking water on tap.

Maximum Occupancy: 2 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated
The Deluxe Beach Front Villa
Most recently added, the 42m2 Deluxe Beach Front Villa is only steps away from the beach and provides a modern/tropical open-plan internal space.

Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults 1 child.
Existing Bedding: 1 Queen Bed.
Additional Bedding: A Single Bed or cot may be added.
2 Bedroom Villas/Apartments:
The 70m2 2 Bedroom Apartments are located in various positions in the resort. All have 2 separate bedrooms and a separate living/dining/kitchen area.
One ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi Spa Bath and separate shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 adults and 2 children
Existing Bedding: 2 Queen Beds or 1 Queen Bed and 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A set of bunks may be added to the lounge for the 5th and 6th occupants
A cot or child bed may be added but this does not increase the maximum occupancy allowed.
3 Bedroom Villa:
2 Storey, located next to the pool. Full kitchen, living area, private balcony, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom that overlooks the resort pool.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 adults and 2 children
Existing Bedding: 3 Queen Beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodataed
A cot or child bed may be added but this does not increase the maximum occupancy allowed.
Getting to and from Muri Beach Resort
Arrival and departure airport transfers are included in our package arrangements as required/agreed.
With its location near the southern end of the Muri Lagoon, guests will find it a mere 5 minute walk to the Sailing Club and all the services, restaurants, cafés and the night market of Muri Village. The Round Island Buses stop on demand right at the roadside end of the driveway which means you are only 30 minutes away from Avarua on the direct bus route.
The sister property, Nautilus Resort, is right next door and their award-winning restaurant is very popular with Muri Beach Resort guests.
Kids Policy
● Children are welcome year-round.
● One infant (aged under 3 years) per unit is accommodated free of charge
● Child-minding is available (charged).

Early Check-in and Late Check-out
When available, a check in from 6:00am and/or a late check out up to 6:00pm will be charged at 50% of the overnight rate for the accommodation type booked.
