OUR Thoughts on Natura Beach Bungalow, Ara Tapu, South Coast Rarotonga.
This is a pleasant, well-priced beach bungalow located in a garden setting surrounded by lawns, flowering shrubs and coconut palms and only a few steps across the road from a really beautiful beach. The bungalow is very well equipped for an island holiday for up to 5 guests. The outstanding feature of this bungalow is its indoor-outdoor living arrangement. The modern kitchen is divided from the lounge by a breakfast bar and on the outside wall of the lounge, bi-fold doors open right up to a great outdoor-room-style veranda living space which is under a continuation of the main roof line. This is where you will spend most of your time relaxing! At its widest, the veranda contains a 7-piece dining setting with comfortable chairs. As the veranda narrows a little and passes around the side of the bungalow to the entrance to the laundry you find a full-size gas BBQ. On the veranda, roll-down clear plastic blinds are provided for shelter when the weather is uncooperative.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a 4-burner gas hob, a wall oven and microwave. There is a full-size fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. The separate laundry has a washing machine, clothes drier, laundry tub and iron.
The bungalow is not air-conditioned and doesn’t really need it as it is well shaded, has numerous glass louvre windows in the bedrooms and the lounge as well as those wide-opening doors off the lounge on to that amazing veranda.
The tariff includes a service with linen change and gardening every 3 days, free local telephone calls and the use of snorkelling equipment.
Natura Beach Bungalow has a minimum 5 night stay policy.

“Natura Beach Bungalow is a two bedroom bungalow set in a tropical garden with a large lawn (perfect for wedding marquee) with a private beach reserve & turquoise lagoon across the road. The gardens are beautifully manicured complete with colourful flowers and useful fruit trees including bananas, lemons, coconuts, passionfruit and so much more. The bungalow features a king bedroom with ensuite, and 2nd bedroom with double & single bed. The kitchen is fully functional and loaded with modern appliances. The main bathroom & toilet is modern and clean with hot & cold water. The lounge is comfortable as is the open air dining space on the large covered balcony that has commanding views of the turquoise lagoon. This place is private and secluded and is perfect for couples, families or groups of friends travelling together.”
Accommodation Arrangements
The 120m2 Bungalow has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and linen is supplied. The Main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower and toilet. The main bathroom also has a vanity, shower and toilet.

Second Bedroom: 1 Double Bed and 1 Single Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding is accommodated.
General note re a holiday home stay.
Holiday homes are a very welcome addition to the accommodation options available on Rarotonga. Obviously, individual holiday homes offer widely differing standards and specifications as to what is included and the services which are available to guests taking this accommodation option. As a general rule, a holiday home is a private citizen’s private residence or holiday place and, unlike a stay at a resort, a manager or owner may not be available on-site. However, the owner (or an agent of the owner) may be available to sort out any problems or maintenance issues encountered (and visits by neighbours’ dogs and chickens!!) It is sensible to maintain a reasonable level of security and to keep up a personal insect repellent program. Through understanding what this accommodation style entails, a really enjoyable holiday can be had in a holiday home in Rarotonga.
Getting to and from Natura Beach Bungalow
The Natura people have a very good system for arriving and departing guests. Their contracted driver will be at the airport to meet arriving guests. The driver will have access to the keys to the property and after providing the transfer to the property, will open up and give a short orientation of the bungalow, its features and facilities. The driver will call again at the completion of your stay and transfer you back to the airport on departure.
Natura Beach Bungalow is perfectly located for a great holiday stay. There is a handily-placed small road-side dairy/grocery nearby and Wigmore’s Superstore (groceries, takeaways, etc) is only approximately 1km along the road. The pleasant little restaurant at Palm Grove is only 400 metres towards Wigmore’s and you’ll find the Vaima Restaurant and Bar a little further along from Wigmore’s. From the location of Natura Beach Bungalow, you are almost exactly half way around the island from Avarua (the main town), so, it’s approximately 16km to town either via Muri Lagoon one way or via Arorangi in the clock-wise direction. The Round-Island Bus runs both ways every hour during the day.
Night Restaurant Bus:
Every day except Sunday and Public Holidays, a bus operates clockwise every hour between 6:00pm and 11:00pm. This is a perfect way for guests at Natura Beach Bungalow to get to any restaurant on the island. The bus stops at Natura Beach Bungalows on demand at approximately 23 minutes past the hour.

Children of all ages are welcome at the Natura Beach Bungalow.

Early Check-in and Late Check-out
Early check-in from 6:00am, when available, is charged at a flat rate of NZ$150. If check-in is required prior to 6:00am, an additional night will be charged.
Late Check-out to 6:00pm, when available, is charged at a flat rate of NZ$150. A later check-out will be charged as an additional night.
Property Payment Policy
Full payment is required at least 60 days prior to scheduled arrival date.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing
Cancellations made outside 60 days of travel
– no fee
Cancellations made between 45 and 60 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to
20% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
Cancellations made between 30 and 44 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to
50% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
Cancellations made within 29 days of scheduled
arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to 100% of
the cost of the accommodation booked.
Guests who fail to show on the scheduled date of
arrival and guests who depart prior to scheduled
departure date are charged 100% of the cost of
the accommodation booked but not utilised.
