January 2025 - Intercontinental Le Moana Bora Bora
Ia Orana Fleur
Happy New Year to you and your family. We had a wonderful stay in French Polynesian thank-you. IHG Moana on Bora Bora is still amazing. We were upgraded to a water bungalow due to having the IHG Ambassador membership which is well worth the money with many privileges. The staff acknowledged our wedding anniversary and Andys 60th birthday with a new sarong, teeshirt and a photo album 😊
They came back later in the day with a bottle of complimentary bubbles. It really is a wonderful spot on the main island and convenient as you have access to the other restaurants and a supermarket if you need anything. Beautiful sunsets on Matira beach which are just over the road from the hotel. Kayaking snorkelling and paddle boarding at the hotel. We enjoyed our Christmas dinner buffet there with the Tahitian dancers. All the internal flights were on time. Huahine was lush and green. The hotel was lovely. Very in keeping with the environment. Food in the restaurant was ok. The staff were lovely. We went on an amazing boat trip with Huahine Nautique to some beautiful snorkelling spots and then lunch on an island where we sat on a table in the water and ate a beautiful Polynesian lunch. It was a wonderful day.
We were upgraded in Papeete at the IHG there. It’s a lovely hotel. Staff are very accommodating. We enjoyed happy hour at the Tiki bar. They had a brunch on the Sunday with Polynesian dancing and also drumming in the evening. We bumped into one of the reception girls from Huahine who had come over for a couple of days with her husband and daughter. The 3.00am flight wasn’t great as we had a 4 1/2 hour flight up North afterwards but the flight times aren’t the best going there.
We will definitely go back at some point. Maybe visit another island. Thank you for arranging our trip. It all went smoothly and everything ran on time with driver pick ups and flights.
Best wishes
Tina & Andy
