The Scenic Matavai Resort have friendly management and staff. The Scenice Matavai Resort has great views and comfortable accommodation. The pool, bar area, and meals were very good. Arguably the best resort/accommodation on the island. Anyone booking their "Apartments and Villas" option should be aware that it is quite a distant away from the Resort (approx 1.5k). The orientation tour is definitely most worthwhile and informative and would recommend it to all new visitors to the island. The Rental cars are compulsory especially if you intend to tour the island and visit many of the sea tracks, pools etc. It is also essential if intending to "dine out".

There are some very good restaurants/cafes on Niue. They are quite basic in appearance, but in keeping with Niue in general the meals are great. They had very friendly service. Our favourites were Kaiika (Japanese) and Falala Fa (fish, steak, burgers etc). We had excellent coffees and lunches at Hio Cafe, Vaiolama Cafe and Crazy Unga and, of course, Sunday evening at Washaway is a must!
