AUGUST 2015

Hi Liz,

Thank you. Yes, we had a lovely relaxing time.

We were impressed with the Gateway Hotel. Rooms were spacious. Pool and slide were nice. Excellent for one or two nights.

Mantaray Island Resort was great. Our bures were roomy and just a few steps from the water. Lots of young backpackers staying there in the dormitory which looked very comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. One girl in particular –Lani – was a dream. One of our party had a sore throat –Lani fixed her hot ginger and lemon drinks each morning. The food at the resort was nice. Not sumptuous but good choices and vegetarians are catered for.

We swam with the manta rays –up there with one of the best things we have ever experienced –like seeing the wild life in Botswana and the tarantulas in the rain forest in Peru.

Our flight back to NZ was delayed from 10pm Saturday to 7am Sunday. No hotel accommodation so Fiji Airways sent us to the Rejuvenation Spa 10 minutes away. Even though we had to sleep on bean bags, the staff there looked after us superbly and we even had free foot and hand massages. Pizzas were delivered for dinner. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience and all covered by the airline.

Thanks heaps once again.

Regards
Brian and Laurelle
