Thought you might be interested in our observations on our recent trip to Nanuya, Fiji.

  1. The trip up to the Yasawa Islands on the Awesome Adventures Flyer was about 5 hours, but with great scenery and much activity when we stopped at each resort to drop of and collect passengers, the time passed quickly.
  2. Would definitely recommend the Captains Lounge, which is air conditioned with complimentary drinks and snacks.
  3. Reception at Nanuya low key but very friendly.
  4. As requested we got bure 11, a much sought after bure with a fabulous 180 degree view. It was kept spotlessly clean.
  5. Quite a steep path up to the bure, but if I can manage it (with the odd stop) at age 72, then most people could.
  6. Staff from the Manager ,Alfie, through to the waiters, barmen, cooks, roomgirls, gardners etc. are one happy, friendly family and a pleasure to stay with.
  7. Beach facilities are abundant. Plenty of hammocks, hammock chairs, beach lounger chairs and canoes.
  8. Snorkelling is excellent straight off the beach and plenty of fish as it is a marine reserve.
  9. Daytime activities are fishing, village visit, school visit, walk around the island, snorkelling and diving, canoeing, swimming, Visit Blue Lagoon caves, and lounging on the beach.
  10. Limited food menu, but excellent quality with emphasis on seafood (fresh every day) and good steaks. Breakfast 8am – 10am, then all day menu until 5pm and dinner 6pm – 9pm.
  11. Very low key resort, but not for children, party animals or rock’n’rollers. but ideal for honeymooners, couples and stressed out business men to chillout at.
  12. No night entertainment and everyone was sooo tired with all the daily activities that we were all back in our bures by 8.30 – 9.00pm
  13. The resort was full but with only 12 bures, it never seemed crowded.

To sum up, we thoroughly enjoyed this holiday, and even after 10 days on the island were very sad to leave. We made some good friends and look forward to returning.

If you have a client requesting a window seat on the 737, our seats which I think were 17A and 17B do not have a window. No big deal for us, but it may upset some people.

 Hope the above ramblings give you a picture of this stunning island and resort.
