MARCH 2011 - SAMOA

Hi Liz

We had a lovely time at Coconuts and the location was perfect for relaxation. The beach was beautiful white sand and it was very safe to swim.

Most of the building work has been completed with only small finishing touches to do. Workmen around the complex all day but once we had our book out we really didn't notice them.

Perfect for us as we wanted relaxation more than exploring but if you wanted to get out and about and see the town and island it felt a little out of the way and not so easy as say Rarotonga to go exploring on your own. Resort organised trips out but they did seem quite expensive. Having said that we did one day trip around the island and cost aside we had a lovely day and out driver was very friendly and knowledgeable.

The beach fale was fantastic - just steps from the beach, clean, spacious and modern, amazing huge bathroom and large veranda with table and chairs and sun loungers.

The meal deal was great and as vegetarians I felt there were more options than I expected there to be which was an added bonus.

The resort itself is wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. The only small niggle we had was around the staff. On more than one occasion we just felt we weren't that welcome and it was a hassle to take our order (however this seemed to be the younger morning staff). The only other thing was that in the evening the restaurant felt quite somber. Some upbeat music may have helped.

Overall we had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect - the only problem was that it went too fast!

I look forward to organising our next island holiday now!

Cheers,
Emma
