November 2023 - Yatule Resort & Spa, Fiji

Hello Rebecca,

Firstly, our apologies for taking so long to respond to your request. Despite Cyclone Mel we had a wonderful holiday which ticked all our boxes and reconfirmed Fiji as we like to experience it as the best place for a restful break. Sleep, eat, swim, drink and read [not necessarily in that order!] is our aim and this holiday achieved all of that. A few comments that you may find helpful:

  • The transfers with Tour Managers were as you would expect. Nearly on time and friendly.
  • Yatule Resort. This is the third time we have stayed at the resort and we like it because of its size, low key friendly staff, old style Fijian resort casualness and location away from the larger resorts and, in particular, Denarau. Yatule mostly met those expectations. The location on Natadola Beach was great of course, the public facilities perfectly acceptable and the restaurant and bar excellent, although a little over priced compared to other properties. However, the bures are in need of urgent refurbishment and the standard has deteriorated since our last stay in 2000 pre Covid. Until this is rectified the property can no longer consider itself 4 Star. We would marginally rate it 3 ½ Star and we will not go back if nothing is done to upgrade the bures. You may need to find us a similar property that meets our needs?
  • After leaving Yatule we spent a night at the Gateway Hotel at Nadi Airport before flying home and were pleasantly surprised. As regular visitors to Fiji over several decades we have not stayed at this property for a very long time and had little expectation but found it to be beautifully maintained with a small but well appointed and perfectly clean room, excellent food with prices less than Yatule, friendly and helpful staff and just great value for money for a short stay.

Thanks for your [and Sean’s] assistance with our arrangements and we hope to review your holiday offers again at some time.

Kind Regards
Dennis & Megan
