01 June 2026
Blue Lagoon Cruises is writing to advise our valued partners that there has been an increase to the mandatory fuel surcharge that is currently in effect. With the price of diesel fuel in Fiji as of the 1st of June 2026 increasing nearly 100% is just three months, the price of fuel is now the highest ever recorded in Fiji. This sharp increase in fuel prices has not only driven our own operating costs to unprecedented levels but has also driven up costs related to the likes of food & beverage. Given that our rates were set and released in 2025, Blue Lagoon Cruises could not have factored in this unprecedented increase in costs and therefore has made the decision to implement a mandatory fuel surcharge for all those cruising with us until further notice.
What are we charging & how will this be paid?
The mandatory fuel surcharge applicable will now be FJ$35.00 per cabin per night (not per person) and will be charged directly to the guests’ cabins to be paid onboard at the conclusion of their cruise (along with any other incidentals or items enjoyed during their cruise).
We’d like to thank our guests for their understanding of our need to recover a small percentage of the increase in operating costs
Terms & Conditions are noted as follows:
“While we try our utmost not to increase our prices, this is sometimes outside our control. On that basis, we reserve the right to amend our prices although amendments should occur only in the instance of increases in our costs to deliver the cruise such as but not limited to, fuel costs, government taxes and charges, exchange rate fluctuations, and ground costs beyond the control of Blue Lagoon Cruises and which are deemed material to operations.”
