OCTOBER 2016

We really enjoyed the holidays :-) All went smoothly, people at Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa were very nice and the weather awesome. Overall, we've had a really good time. Thanks for organizing this for us - we'd definitely use your company again :-)

The resort was clean, comfortable and had a nice local feel. It was somewhat dated and run-down in places, so wouldn't appeal to people looking for a spotless modern accommodation, but it was perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and clean, had fans and air conditioners in them, and the location was really nice and quiet.

There were activities around the pool all the time, so one could choose to be surrounded by music and people or be on his/her own in the hammock or on the beach. I don't know how they managed to do this, but the noise really didn't carry, so one could move 50 meters away or so to be surrounded just by the sound of the birds and the waves. Buffet breakfast has a large variety of foods, with a good selection of hot meals, baking and fruits. The resort had snorkeling gear for hire and offered glass bottom boat tours for a fee. They also had a diving instructors who could take people diving - from novice to experienced. We had an introductory diving lesson in the pool (free) but didn't make it to the ocean - maybe next time :-).

It was also close to the Fiji wildlife park (10 min or so on a local bus), which was just amazing. We got to hold snakes and lizards and saw a variety of local plants and birds. The resort offered taxi service, but it was much cheaper and more "exotic" to take a local bus for those of us who wanted to check out the nearest town and its market (about 30 minutes drive). Overall, it was a very relaxing holiday.
