LE MERIDIEN BORA BORA Motu Tape, Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
“Welcome and "Ia Orana" to Le Meridien Bora Bora...Completely renovated in 2010 in a contemporary and elegant design, this luxury resort is set on a magnificent islet surrounded by the most beautiful lagoon in the world and offers stunning sights over Mount Otemanu.
Only 20 minutes from the airport the resort is only accessible by boat. Regular shuttles bring you to the main island in only 5 minutes.
The resort offers a combination of outstanding bungalows and villa suites, from beach or lagoon bungalows to the most romantic over-water bungalows featuring a large glass floor with amazing views of the lagoon and its marine life. All bungalows have chic and modern furniture, full facilities and the flavour of the Polynesian culture. For more intimacy, explore our pool beach suites or indulge yourself in the pool beach villas, offering 2 rooms and a private infinity pool overlooking the inner lagoon of the resort.
For delight, cuisine and culture, the hotel recommends its buffet restaurant at "Le Tipanie", or "Te Ava" a casual restaurant with a sand floor and lively decor, or its finest gourmet a la carte "Le Tiare" restaurant which offers a fusion of Polynesian and international food flavours.
Discover the turtle sanctuary at Le Meridien Bora Bora, home to numerous marine turtles. This centre works in an environmental effort to protect the species and the resort is proud to add its contribution in saving them. Resort guests are invited to swim with the turtles in their natural environment.”
Our Thoughts on Le Meridien Bora Bora Totally refurbished and reopened to guests in January 2011, Le Meridien Bora Bora is located on the lagoon island Motu Tape, with the St Regis Bora Bora off to one side and InterContinental Bora Bora and Thalasso Spa off the other side. As you arrive on the Resort’s airport transfer boat, you come in through the two enfolding arms of Overwater Bungalows to the arrival pontoon. From there guests are welcomed and taken to the Front Desk – it’s at this point that the difference between Le Meridien Bora Bora and most other Bora Bora resorts becomes obvious.
The central complex of Le Meridien Bora Bora sits on a pure white-sand island facing the Bora Bora lagoon on one side and a beautiful “interior lagoon” on the other. The interior lagoon is like a giant natural horizon swimming pool surrounded by glorious beaches. Encircling and overlooking the interior lagoon are the Le Tipanie and Le Tiari Restaurants, a row of Beach Bungalows, the Wedding Chapel, the Turtle Sanctuary and the one and two bedroom Pool Beach Villas (previously known as Pool Beach Suites and Villas). The Fitness Centre and the Spa are close by. The ocean is behind and the Overwater Bungalows on the main lagoon are ahead. What all this means is that depending on your mood at the time, guests staying at Le Meridien Bora Bora, can choose between enjoying the beaches, facilities and dining services facing the main lagoon and those facing the private interior lagoon.
Your Accommodation Options
2 Lagoon Bungalows Located at the beginning of the Overwater Bungalow pontoons, Lagoon Bungalows are equipped in the same way as overwater bungalows but without the glass floor or direct access to the lagoon, this is due to the shallow depth of the lagoon water so close to the beach. This category of bungalow is a good alternative to enjoy the resort at a reduced price. Bungalows have views up and down the main lagoon and are 50 square metres in area. Maximum Occupancy: 3 Persons Bedding Configuration: 1 King (can be split into 2 Singles) Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa Bed
6 Beach Bungalows (2 are equipped for disabled persons) Located around the internal lagoon, these bungalows have a deck and a private beach and a private hammock. Beach Bungalows are similar in layout and size to the Overwater Bungalows at 50 square metres and are particularly good for a couple with a young child or for Honeymooners seeking privacy. Views from the terrace deck are over the interior lagoon and beach to Mt Otemanu beyond. Maximum Occupancy: 3 Persons Bedding Configuration: 1 King (can be split into 2 Singles) Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa Bed
59 Overwater Bungalows and 22 Premium Overwater Bungalows The main difference between the two categories is their location on the boardwalk piers. Overwater Bungalows generally offer a view up and down the main lagoon with side aspect to Mt Otemanu. Premium Overwater Bungalows are located nearer the ends of the piers and offer direct views of Mt Otemanu. Both are 50 square metres in size. Premium Bungalows have a slightly bigger deck. Most overwater bungalows in Bora Bora provide an in-floor viewing window to the lagoon below. Le Meridien’s lagoon-viewing windows are huge in comparison to most and are certainly a great feature. Guests get a great view of the marine life of the lagoon from their guest room and the sight of the rays; fish etc is very relaxing and quite mesmerising. All Overwater and Premium Overwater Bungalows are equipped with direct access to the lagoon from the terrace deck. Maximum Occupancy: 3 Persons Bedding Configuration: 1 King (can be split into 2 Singles) Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa Bed
One Bedroom Pool Beach Villas Right on the beach, overlooking the interior lagoon and 157 square metres in size including decks etc), the Pool Beach Villas have a separate bedroom and lounge. Apart from the additional interior space, there is a large terrace deck and a very good sized private plunge pool. The view is out over the interior lagoon to Mt Otemanu.
