Our thoughts on the Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora
This Resort has a very good location on Matira Point Bora Bora. It is only a five minute walk north to Sofitel Marara, a short distance south to InterContinental Le Moana and surrounded by local eating places, food market and local services. Le Maitai provides an interesting option for holidaymakers seeking a more affordable “local” experience of Bora Bora which can be a fairly expensive destination.
Maitai Polynesia has provided a cheaper option by pairing back on some services and facilities offered by the more expensive resorts while still providing those services and facilities that are essential to an enjoyable Bora Bora experience. For instance, they do not have an Airport Resort Transfer boat; guests travel on the public ferry between the airport and Vaitape, the main town on Bora Bora, then by shuttle bus to the resort. For those looking to experience some of the local culture, this is a great way to start. The Resort does not have a swimming pool, but that is not too much of an issue in this location as the lagoon off the resort is perfect for swimming all year.
The Resort does have a full range of accommodation options from Garden Rooms to Overwater Bungalows as well as 2 restaurants, gift shop, guests’ bar and excellent local staff. The beach side restaurant is well known for its excellent food and the prices are not over the top. If you are looking for a Spa experience, just wander down to the InterContinental (10 minutes walk) and take the boat over their sister resort out on the reef motus and enjoy the wonderful Thalasso Spa facilities out there.

There are a total of 74 air-conditioned units at Maitai Polynesia. The Garden and Ocean View rooms are separated from the Beach Bungalows and the Overwater Bungalows by the circle island road. This may seem somewhat unusual but the road is no imposition at all while you are staying at the Resort.

Located on the ground floor, the 24 Garden Rooms are 27 square metres in size and each has a 7.5 square metre outdoor terrace. Interconnecting rooms are available. There are also 4 Triple garden Rooms which are a little bigger which have an additional bed for a third adult or a child.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 1 Child
Bedding Configuration: 1 King or 2 Single beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa bed
Ocean View Rooms
The 16 Ocean View Rooms are in 2/3 storey blocks on slightly higher ground which provides extensive views out over the lagoon and the ocean. Ocean View Rooms are 27 square metres in size and each has a 7.5 square metre outdoor terrace. Interconnecting rooms are available. There are also 4 Triple Ocean View Rooms, these are a little bigger (31 square metres) and have an additional bed for a third adult or a child.

Beach Bungalows
Facing the beach, the 7 Polynesian-style, stand–alone Beach Bungalows with high pitched ceilings have an area of 30 square metres and an 8 square metre terrace. Existing bedding is a King Double and a pull-out sofa bed. Maximum occupancy is 3 adults or 2 adults and a child.

Overwater Bungalows
There are 3 groups of Overwater Bungalows. There is a group of 4 on the northern end of the beach, a group of 9 on the southern beach boundary and a further group of 6 in the centre. Each bungalow is the same design and size as the Beach Bungalows with the added feature of being built on stilts out over the lagoon. Because the groups of Overwater Bungalows are all quite small, the individual bungalows are all very handy to the shore and the beach while still providing guests with a totally authentic over-water holiday experience.

Getting to and from Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora
Prearranged by Our Specialists, from the airport, take the public ferry to Vaitape Town, then the Resort Shuttle to your accommodation.
Kids Policy
Kids aged 3-15years stay free when sharing accommodation with a minimum of 2 adults. A special Kids rate applies for children aged under 3-15years when sharing accommodation with 1 adult.
Kids under 3years stay and transfer free of charge.
Check-in/Check Out
The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:
Check-In Time: 2.00pm
Check Out Time: 11.00am
Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 7 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation including taxes will be levied.
No-shows: A penalty of all nights accommodation charge per room will apply for all no-shows.
