Our Thoughts on the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa.
This wonderful resort is located on the far end of Moorea when measured from the airport or ferry terminal so you start to get an idea of what this island has to offer just transferring to the resort. We would call this a mid-sized resort from the point that it has 143 rooms/bungalows/suites, but it certainly has all the big resort facilities. The main part of the resort is located on the “mainland” and then there are overwater bungalows that are located on a series of small lagoon islands and accessed by boardwalk bridges some of which enclose the dolphin pool. The resort faces out to the open sea but there is an off-shore reef a short way out that gives shelter and which attracts an enormous number of little fish that constantly surround the overwater bungalows.
The InterContinental Moorea Resort and Spa has 2 excellent restaurants and snack food is available from the swim-up pool bar. There is a convenience store just across the road from the resort which provides the option of takeaway food such as ice cream, cheese and French bread and there are several good local restaurants nearby. Many of the restaurants on Moorea provide a pick-up/drop-off service if you decide to try an alternative to taking all your meals at the resort. Guests staying in the overwater bungalows have the option of breakfasts delivered right to your deck by outrigger canoe.
Your Room Options
There is a wide variety of accommodation options available and all deliver top quality InterContinental standards and facilities. Around a third of the accommodation are in 2 blocks of hotel rooms or Lanai Rooms. These 2 storey blocks are curved buildings which from above resemble back-to-back bananas! Each one follows the curve of the beach; one faces over the new (also curved) horizon pools towards the lagoon and the other block faces over a beautifully kept lawn towards the inner lagoon and the overwater bungalows. The remaining two thirds of the accommodation on offer are Suite Bungalows. These are either garden bungalows which each feature a private plunge pool, others are virtually right on the beach front and yet others are overwater bungalows.

Lanai Rooms are located either on the ground floor or first floor of the 2 hotels blocks. Interconnecting rooms are available. Two are wheelchair accessible. A Lanai Suite is also offered, this suite is known as the Teremoana Suite

Bedding Configuration: 1 King or 2 Single beds
Beach Bungalow Suite & Beach Premium Bungalow Suite
Located only a very few metres from the lagoon and virtually right on the beach. Step down from the covered terrace right on to the sand. Beach Bungalows are offered in 2 categories; the Premium View Bungalows enjoy a slightly better outlook.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children
Bedding Configuration: 1 King
Additional Bedding: 2 Sofa Beds
Garden Pool Bungalow Suite
Locations scattered through the tropical gardens, each with its own private plunge pool which are approximately 1.5 metres square and 1.5 metres deep. There is a sitting ledge down one side. These pools are ideal for cooling off in on hot days or nights! Garden Bungalows generally don’t have a beach or sea view.

Additional Bedding: 2 Sofa Beds
Overwater Bungalow Suite & Overwater Premium Bungalow Suite
Overwater Suite Bungalows are located on one of the small islands which make up part of the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa. Most have their entrance on the land and their “feet in the water” although a few are built completely over water and you access them by a short bridge from the island. Like the Beach Bungalows, they are offered in 2 categories, the Premium Bungalows are generally those which have great sunset views.

'Teremoana' Lanai Suite
The size of 2 Lanai Rooms. The Teremoana Suite sleeps either 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children aged under 15 years.

Bedding Configuration: 1 King
Additional Bedding: 2 Sofa Beds
Getting to and from InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa
On our package arrangements there is a choice of either flying the very short distance to Moorea or we will arrange a transfer from your Papeete accommodation to the Ferry Terminal to take the fast ferry to Moorea. We will provide a transfer on Moorea between the Moorea Airport or ferry terminal and your Moorea accommodation.
Kids Policy
Children 14 years of age and under stay free if accommodated in existing bedding, sharing with at least 1 paying adult. If an extra bed is requested, an extra bed charge applies.
Children 14 years of age and under eat and drink free from the Kids Menu when dining with at least 1 paying adult.
Check-in/Check Out
The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Check Out Time: 11.00am
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 3 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation will be levied.
