Location, location – Ia Ora beach and the Sofitel Moorea is only 1km from Moorea Airport, 3 kms from the ferry terminal for the ferries from Tahiti and only 2 kms from the golf club. As you round the point leading into Ia Ora Beach you get a perfect view of this beautiful resort with its individual bungalows waiting to pamper you.
Families are welcome, but this is really a great resort for couples and honeymooners. There is only 1 swimming pool, but that’s fine because the lagoon is clean and fresh and wonderful for swimming and snorkelling, in fact, for snorkelling you really don’t need a mask, the water is that clear. There is a dive operator on site and Moorea has many world-class scuba dive locations. There is an excellent spa and the Polynesian massages are so relaxing.
Although it’s handy to the ferry terminal and airport, the Sofitel Moorea is really secluded and ideal for a relaxing, romantic break. You probably won’t want to leave the Resort while you are booked there, but if you do; a hire car for a day is good way to explore the rest of Moorea. The Sofitel Moorea’s restaurants are very good, but if you decide to try one of the local restaurants for a change, make sure the one you choose has complimentary pickup/drop-off arrangements
Your Room Options
There are two different grades at Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort; Superior and Luxury. The main difference between the two is the size of the bungalow. The bungalows spread out along the beach and in the beautiful gardens on both sides of the resort’s central buildings which house Reception, the restaurants and bars. The Overwater Bungalows are located along a branching boardwalk pier more-or-less out front of the resort. One branch accesses the Superior Overwater Bungalows and the other services predominantly Luxury Overwater Bungalows.

 Superior Garden Bungalow
The newest bungalows at Sofitel Moorea are 42 square metres in size including decks. These are generally the furthest away from the restaurants and are approximately 30-40 metres away from the beach.

Bedding Configuration: 1 Double + 1 Rollaway
Luxury Garden Bungalow
Luxury Garden Bungalows are 59.8 square metres in size including decks and are generally located immediately behind the Lagoon View and Beach Bungalows. Most have a view of the water between the bungalows in front. There are 6 Luxury Garden Bungalows set in a semi-circle beside a lovely lawn and another 6 set beside an intimate tropical garden pond – these locations give a Polynesian Village feeling.

Superior Lagoon View Bungalow
Superior Lagoon View Bungalows are 42 square metres in size including decks. They are located on the beach frontage and face out at the Overwater Bungalows.

Bedding Configuration: 1 Twin or 1 Double + 1 Sofa
Luxury Beach Bungalow
Located right on the beach frontage with clear views out over the lagoon, Luxury Beach Bungalows are 59.8 square metres in size including decks.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults & 1 Child
Bedding Configuration: 1 Twin or 1 Double + 1 Rollaway
Superior Overwater Bungalow
Superior Overwater Bungalows are built right over the lagoon and are almost right out front of the resort’s central area. They are 42 square metres in size including decks. Optional outrigger canoe delivered breakfasts can be arranged. Special bungalows for disabled guests are available in this category.

Bedding Configuration: 1 Twin or 1 Double + 1 Sofa
Luxury Overwater Bungalow
Built a little further out in the lagoon, these bungalows are a massive 83 square metres including decks. Luxury Overwater Bungalows are not suitable for children. Optional outrigger canoe delivered breakfasts can be arranged.

Getting to and from Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort
On our package arrangements there is a choice of either flying the very short distance to Moorea or we will arrange a transfer from your Papeete accommodation to the Ferry Terminal to take the fast ferry to Moorea. We will provide a transfer on Moorea between the Moorea Airport or ferry terminal and your Moorea accommodation
Kids Policy
Children 3 to 11 years of age stay free when sharing the same room as parents using existing bedding or one extra bed.
Children 3 to 11 years of age receive a 50% discount on meals when dining with at least 1 paying adult.
Children under 3 years of age eat free.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 3 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation will be levied.
