Our Thoughts on the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa
The Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa is located on the north of Moorea, between Cook's Bay and Oponohu Bay; 20 minutes drive from the Moorea airport and 25 minutes from the Moorea ferry's dock. With 104 bungalows we feel that it is just about the right size for a very enjoyable holiday on Moorea. This is a wonderful place for a romantic tropical honeymoon.
There are two exceptional restaurants. The Arii Vahine is located right on the lagoon front and is open for breakfast and dinner – buffet breakfast in this wonderful setting is the perfect way to start your day. The Rotui Bar and Grill located near the swimming pool and the beach is the perfect spot for lunch and provides a more casual style dinner venue most nights. The Toatea Bar is very special and very unusual in that it is located near the centre of the overwater bungalow boardwalk. It is open 5.30pm to 10.00pm for drinks and dinner and specialises in all kinds of crepes. It’s a very handy meeting spot for guests staying in the overwater bungalows, but we are impressed by the fact that even if you stay in the garden or lagoon bungalows you can still enjoy the casual ambience of this wonderful spot on the lagoon amidst the overwater bungalows. From time to time dining is set up on the beach and there can be no more romantic place to dine than on the beach at the Hilton Moorea surrounded by flaming torches with the stars above and Moorea’s mountains in the background.
The beach is great for swimming and there is a beautiful pool that resembles a Polynesian lagoon complete with large black rocks in the pool that add to the romantic natural Polynesian flavour.
Within a ten minutes walk from the resort you will find two or three local cafes where a pleasant time can be spent meeting the locals and sampling the family-style hospitality.
Your Room Options
Of the 104 bungalows at Hilton Moorea, just on half of them are located entirely over the lagoon and accessed by boardwalks built on stilts in the lagoon. The other option is land-based Garden Bungalows, each with a private plunge pool. Another interesting option is a category called Lagoon Bungalows, of which there are only 3. These are built right on the beach and, like the overwater bungalows have decks out over the lagoon. Finally, there are two huge Garden Suites, each with a private pool. All bungalows and suites are really spacious and have beautiful wooden floors and high pitched ceilings. All accommodation is fully air-conditioned.
 Garden Bungalows with Pool
Garden Bungalows are located furthest away from the beach, but nowhere at this resort is very far from the beach. Built 2 to a block these bungalows are 75 square metres in size including the pool and deck. Even though they are in duplex blocks, each bungalow has complete privacy. The bungalow opens on to the deck on two sides. Each plunge pool is approximately 2 metres by 3 metres in size – just right for 2 people to cool off in style. The outdoor area also contains a table and chairs, 2 sun loungers and a shade gazebo. The bathrooms are modern and features a claw-foot bath.

Deluxe Garden Bungalow with Pool
Generally located closer to the beach, some have water views. The Deluxe category differs from the Garden Bungalow category in as much that each is a separate building which does not join another. At 88 square metres in size, every area is just slightly bigger (room, deck and pool).

Bedding Configuration: 1 King or 2 Single beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa bed
Lagoon Bungalow
Similar in size to the Garden Bungalows. However, as they are built right on the beach and into the lagoon, they do not have a private pool.

Additional Bedding: 1 Sofa bed
Overwater Bungalows
The main difference between the category of Overwater Bungalow and Panoramic Overwater Bungalow is their location on the overwater walkways. Panoramic Overwater Bungalows are further out in the lagoon and nearer the ends of the boardwalks that connect the overwater bungalow system to the shore. Every Overwater Bungalow has a lovely big viewing window in the floor of the lounge area – guests can spend hours of relaxation watching the antics of the tropical fish in the lagoon below. Each has a bungalow level sun deck as well as a lower deck which is just right for sliding off into the lagoon for a refreshing dip. At 62 square metres in area, most of which is in the building itself, these bungalows are very spacious indeed.

Garden Suites with Pool
At 159 square metres in area, the 2 Garden Suites are enormous. Each one is as big as 2 Garden Bungalows combined and each has a very good sized plunge pool set into their extensive deck. They comprise separate sleeping and living areas as well as an excellent bathroom which also houses one of the resort’s signature claw-foot baths.

Getting to and from Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa
On our package arrangements there is a choice of either flying the very short distance to Moorea or we will arrange a transfer from your Papeete accommodation to the Ferry Terminal to take the fast ferry to Moorea. We will provide a transfer on Moorea between the Moorea Airport or ferry terminal and your Moorea accommodation.
Kids Policy
Kids aged under 15 stay free when sharing accommodation with parents (subject to stated room maximums).
Kids aged under 15 eat free from the special kids menu at selected restaurants (Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve excluded).

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 7 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation including taxes will be levied.
No-shows: A penalty of all nights accommodation charge per room will apply for all no-shows.
