Our Thoughts on Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa
A well-established, quality Beach Resort on the south coast of Upolu with a pleasing mix of modern and traditional Samoan architecture. Sinalei is approached by a private access road off the Main South Coast Road; you pass the nine-hole golf course and the tennis courts on the left as you approach the main entrance and lobby.
The lobby complex is a series of linked traditional Samoan Fales, each one housing a different resort facility such as the Internet Fale and the Gift Shop, and overlooking the lagoon, Uncle Harry’s Bar on one side and the Laumosooi Fale Restaurant on the other. The beautiful, natural-rock swimming pool is set in the tropical garden next to Uncle Harry’s Bar and the wonderful Serenity Spa is located right beside the beach. Another feature of Sinalei Reef Resort is the Ava I Tonga Restaurant and Bar located on a natural low rock outcrop which divides the Resort’s beach in two. Ava I Tonga is accessed by a short, curved causeway off the beachfront and features a wide deck out over the lagoon. On one side of this “island” the beach is white and wide – on the other side there is a series of romantic little sandy coves. The pier off the end of Ava I Tonga leads to a natural fresh water spring which bubbles up into the surrounding lagoon.
Breakfast is served daily in the Laumosooi Fale Restaurant and Ava I Tonga opens for lunch. Both restaurants and bars rotate opening days for dinners.
There’s a lot to like about this Resort. Apart from the high standard facilities, accommodation, restaurants and the beautiful established gardens, we find the little extra services and options very appealing. Take, for example, the Town (Apia) Shuttle on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week and the World Champion Fire and Sword dancers at the weekly fia fia night. We like the change of restaurant venues, the daily afternoon tea included in the tariff and the option of breakfast on your own private balcony or a picnic lunch on the beach. Coconuts Beach Club Resort & Spa is a short walk down the beach and between the two resorts there is a local-food café, so there are all sorts of options for dining.
It’s a great spot for a honeymoon and wedding packages are available.

The 29 fales are spread throughout the grounds on both sides of the central resort buildings, so none are too far away from the restaurants and services. The accommodation units at Sinalei are modern and airy, air-conditioned and well screened. While the central Resort buildings are mainly a mix of traditional and modern Samoan in their architecture, the fales are more like small modern houses, each with a subtle Samoan-influenced décor.

 Garden View Fales
Scattered amongst the tropical gardens and furthest away from the beach, each Garden View Fale is a stand-alone bungalow and has an open plan interior space and tiled floor. Garden View Fales are a little more Polynesian in décor than the other fales. Each one has a small deck with 2 or 3 steps down to a manicured lawn out front. Some Garden Fales face the resort golf course. Garden View Fales feature a pleasant outdoor shower off the internal bathroom. Although the showers are open to the tropical sky, they are modern in every respect with high, ceramic-tiled walls and paved floor.

Ocean View Fales
With views through the palm trees to the water, the Ocean View Fales are a generous size. There is a separate bedroom and a small lounge room, both of which open on to a sizeable wooden deck out front. A portion of the deck is shaded by a roofed gazebo which makes it ideal for lounging in the heat of the day or taking a pre-dinner drink as the sun sets over the lagoon. The fale has cool tiled floors throughout and the bathroom is modern and spacious.

Beachside Fales
As the name suggests, the Beachside Fales are virtually right on the beachside, indeed, their wooden decks extend out over the sand. These modern fales have tropical wooden floor which extends out to the deck. Beachside Fales are open-plan with bed and lounge in the one room. The vaulted ceiling aids the feeling of space. Bathrooms are generous and very modern.

The Executive Fale
“Located on the western side of the resort, the Executive Fale Suite is situated in a perfect panoramic beachfront setting. The Suite is made up of 2 Fales separated by covered timber walkways, making ideal indoor and outdoor living spaces to suit a variety of needs. The first Fale is air-conditioned accommodation with all the comforts you would expect in such an executive suite. The second Fale is a large open lounge area with bar and entertaining facilities. This combination of inspirational design makes for an incomparable facility; the ultimate Pacific Island retreat in true luxury”.
This is a big open room, which in addition to the bar, contains lounge seating for 6 – a three-seater couch, a two-seater couch plus a single lounge chair.

The Presidential Fale
This is the 2-fale Executive Fale Suite with the addition of an adjoining Beach Side Fale which has a deck flowing into the Executive Fale’s deck. The “Presidential” configuration allows for 2 separate bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom. The Presidential Fale is ultimate beachfront and very private.

Transfer from Faleolo International Airport to Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa by coach or private vehicle.
Kids Policy
Children under 12 years are not permitted at the Resort.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:
Check In Time: 2.00pm
Check Out Time: 11.00am
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 30 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation will be levied.
If cancellations are effected within 14 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of total stay will be levied.
If cancellations are effected within 7 days of scheduled arrival including no shows, a cancellation fee equal to 100% of total stay will be levied.
