You will experience snorkeling which is renowned for its abundance of coral and tropical marine life. We are a small resort and so you will feel that the beach is exclusively yours.
Savaii Lagoon resort was designed and built and is owned by a New Zealand couple. Savaii Lagoon’s beach is one of the most beautiful in Samoa. It is sheltered by a lagoon where the crystal clear, warm waters are safe for swimming and snorkeling for all ages. It is the ideal relaxation spot for couples and families. A Dive Charter (Padi) also operates from the lagoon from beginners to Masters. In the evening, sip a cocktail or enjoy a local beer (Vailima) at our beach bar and restaurant while you watch the sunsets for which this area is renowned.
All Savaii Lagoon accommodation is absolutely beachfront - seriously right there on the beach, except for the garden bungalow which has a sea view. All accommodations have cooking facilities. We have a bar and restaurant on the beach for those who wish to dine out. Our menu changes each day with our meal prices being affordable. We aim to provide a menu which has fresh produce sourced locally from our village wherever possible."
Our Thoughts on Savaii Lagoon Resort
This place is a real little gem. Located on the north coast of Savaii in the Fagamalo district which is approximately one third of the way around the island from the ferry arrival point, Savaii Lagoon Resort is virtually right on a beautiful white-sand beach which it shares with Le Lagoto Resort which is just along the beach.
The main town on Savaii is around 40 minutes by road away, so dining out when you stay on Savaii is not really an option. However, Savaii Lagoon Resort provides cooking facilities in all their accommodation. Their Beach Bar and Restaurant, which is virtually right on the beach, serves complimentary tropical breakfasts and is open each evening for sunset dining. There is a village shop right across the road which stocks a range of simple food items and a pizza shop close by gets rave reviews. Just down the beach, there is a restaurant at Le Lagoto Resort, so there is a good range of dining options for guests to enjoy. At Savaii Lagoon Resort the excellent tropical breakfasts comprise a fresh seasonal fruit platter or smoothie, cereal plus good coffee, tea, toast and jam. Dinner menus change daily and follow what is fresh at the market. Water is UV filtered and safe to drink.
The resort doesn’t have a swimming pool, but that’s no problem as the shallow lagoon off the beach is clean and clear and when the tide is low, there is a swimming hole 100 metres along the beach which is deep enough to swim at all tides.
So, how long should you plan to stay at Savaii Lagoon Resort? That really depends on the type of holiday break you are looking for. The resort has a policy of only accepting bookings for a minimum of 2 nights stays (although they will accept 1 night bookings on the rare occasion that there happens to be a 1 night gap between existing bookings). However, for those singles, couples or families seeking a simple, natural, laid-back beach break in a safe, friendly, tropical beach environment, we would recommend a stay of at least 5 nights and preferably more.
Your Accommodation Options
Savaii Lagoon Resort has only 11 bungalows, 9 of which are absolute beachfront and 2 are Garden Bungalows, although neither of the Garden Bungalows is any more than 50 metres away from the beach. All the bungalows are modern with spacious, light and bright appointments giving them a “bright and airy” feeling which sets them apart from the slightly darker, more traditional Samoan/Polynesian style found in some of Samoa’s boutique resorts. The accommodation is not air-conditioned, but there is plenty of shade around the buildings, excellent insect-screened flow-through ventilation and fans are provided to keep the air moving when the breeze dies down. All accommodation has light cooking facilities including a microwave oven, electric frying pan, toaster, electric kettle and fridge. Milk, tea and coffee are provided to the rooms daily.
From March 2012 all bungalows will have the superior ensuite bathrooms which include a romantic open-to-the-sky shower. This shower is part of the ensuite but is outside the part of the bathroom which contains the toilet and the bathroom vanity. The shower has an insect screened roof and is accompanied by a small, pretty tropical garden. It really is delightful taking a shower under the stars.

Getting to and from Savaii Lagoon Resort
Transfer from Faleolo International Airport to Mulifanua Wharf by coach or private vehicle before a 75 to 90 minute ferry crossing to the island of Savaii docking at Salelologa Wharf, then a vehicle transfer to the Resort.
Kids Policy
Children under 13 years are accepted and have a special price.
Should children under 2years require a porta-cot, this fee is payable directly to the resort.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
If cancellations are effected within 30 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to 100% of total accommodation will be levied.
