AGGIE GREY'S HOTEL & BUNGALOWS Upolu, Samoa
“Talofa Lava – Afio Mai
Welcome to Aggie Grey’s Hotel & Bungalows.
You'll be spoilt for choice by our accommodation and dining options, and plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Of course, you may also be tempted to simply relax by the pool with a good book.
Whether it's for work or play, make Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows your home away from home – where drums call you to dinner and your waiter becomes a fire dancer for the night. And where generations of history have been passed down from the legendary Aggie Grey to our extended ‘family’ of 300 staff.
On the waterfront overlooking Apia Harbour, this has been Samoa's most famous address since it was established by Aggie Grey in the early 1930s. Today, we still extend that famous Aggie Grey's hospitality to all. From the moment you first arrive, till it's time to say goodbye, we hope you’ll enjoy our blend of gracious service, thoughtful touches and genuine smiles.
Aggie Grey’s Hotel & Bungalows. Samoa’s most famous address since 1933.”
Aggie Grey’s Hotel rates itself at 3.5 Stars. If you stay here with this in mind, you should be agreeably surprised. In parts, it’s something of an “old darling” as it’s full of character and history; some of the facilities may be three and a half star, but the feeling of history that pervades the property is rated very highly indeed and adds a further dimension to any stay. Don’t expect modern taupe and white and edgy-style at Aggies, but do enjoy the “Urban Samoa” feel with its pleasant mix of traditional Samoan architecture, colourfully decorated rooms, modern amenities and exceptionally friendly service.
The centrepiece of the hotel is the beautiful traditional open-side Poolside Fale Restaurant which is on one side of the swimming pool. Buffet American-style breakfasts are served in this restaurant, together with casual poolside lunches and evening theme buffet dinners. Wednesday night is the night of the famous Aggie Grey’s Hotel Fia Fia night when staff members become entertainers. Friday night’s buffet is a Mongolian BBQ, the Seafood Buffet is on Saturday night and the Samoa-style BBQ complete with spit-roasted pig is held on Sunday nights.
Le Tamarima is Aggie’s air-conditioned a-la-carte restaurant where diners enjoy views out over Apia Harbour. Next to the hotel lobby you will find the casual Coffee Lounge. Don’t miss the colonial-style cocktail lounge with its live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights which rounds out the dining and entertainment facilities.
Aggie’s is only a five minute walk from the centre of Apia and the city restaurants are within easy reach on foot or via an inexpensive taxi ride.
Your Accommodation Options Most pictures of Aggie Grey’s Hotel are dominated by the white three storey colonial-style modern wing which forms the front of the hotel and houses the New Wing Rooms and Suites, but there is a lot more to Aggie’s Hotel than that. The original hotel forms a large quadrangle behind the imposing colonial façade. The perimeter of the quadrangle is formed by 2 storey Hibiscus Rooms which either border the pool and the Fale Poolside Restaurant, or, in a quieter part of the quadrangle, face in towards the gardens and the Garden Bungalows. The Garden Bungalows are located between the pool and the hotel lobby. All accommodation is air-conditioned.
