VOMO ISLAND RESORT Mamanuca Islands, Fiji
"Vomo is a privately owned 225-acre property in the Mamanuca group of islands, 15 minutes north by helicopter or seaplane from Nadi International Airport. Mt Vomo rises on the easter side of the island provides spectacular 360 degree views to those who wish to conquer it. Both manicured grounds and lush tropical plantings cover Vomo - no wonder the island was historically a favoured retreat of Fijian Royal Chiefs.
Soft white sands edge the entire island and gently drift into clear aqua waters which can be enjoyed throughout the entire day.
Because Vomo is a private island with no other resorts or villages on the island, you will be embraced by a truly unique and personal Fijian experience.
Vomo's accommodation embodies the spirit of the island. Chic villas are nestled discreetly amongst the natural fauna of the island each with their own unique aspect to allow you to experience the true beauty of your surroundings."
Our thoughts on Vomo Island Resort If you choose to fly in to Vomo from Nadi you’ll be rewarded with spectacular scenery on the way and a special view of Vomo as you skirt around the hill before you land. The hill takes up around half of the land area and the 5 star Resort nestles among the palms on the lower slopes of the hill as well as on the flat land between the hill and the sparkling white-sand beach. .
Vomo is one up-market Fiji Resort that accepts families with children of all ages year round. Naturally, families tend to travel most during school holidays and during these periods Vomo operates a complimentary Kids’ Club. Outside school holiday periods, the vast majority of guests are couples.
Vomo has a high reputation for its food and all meals are included in the price paid to stay here, as are non-alcoholic beverages consumed with the meals. The main dining venue is the Resort’s Reef Restaurant, but on balmy nights you may enjoy dinner served by lamp-light around the pool and for lunch, for a change, the venue may include seaside dining on the beach.
Vomo does not provide noisy motorised watersports equipment on island. The use of all non-motorised sports equipment is complimentary and this includes sailing catamarans and kayaks, as well as green fees, golf clubs and balls for use on their 9-hole chip and putt golf course.
Some of the many special features of a holiday on Vomo are; the Rocks Bar located out on the western tip of the island which is open daily so guests can take in the spectacular sunsets, Vomo Lailai, the uninhabited off-shore island that guests can exclusively book for a castaway romantic lunch experience and the more down-to-earth, but never-the-less impressive complimentary daily wash and iron laundry service provided for all guests.
Your Accommodation Options Vomo Fiji Island Resort comprises 30 accommodation units in all. 28 are big, spacious open-plan villas, there is one 3 bedroom Villa known as “The Royal Villa” and one 4 bedroom Villa named “The Residence”. There is a choice of locations (and prices) for the one room Villas. Garden Villas are nestled along the base of Mt Vomo and have a lovely garden aspect, Hillside Villas are located up the hill from the Garden Villas and have glorious views out over the Resort to the sea and the misty mountainous islands beyond and the Beachfront Villas are only steps off the sand and offer beautiful views of the beach and the sea.
The 3 bedroom Royal has a secluded location at the base of the hill and the 4 bedroom Residence has an absolute beachfront location.
No matter where your villa is located at Vomo, you are never too far away from the Restaurant/Bar/Pool complex or a great beach.
