OUR thoughts on Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji, Yanuca Island, Coral Coast, Viti Levu.
Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji remains a top choice for a Fiji family holiday.  However, as part of the extensive refurbishment program, they have added an excellent range of adults-only facilities, so, now, those people not travelling with children have a wide range of accommodation and facilities from which to choose in a child-free environment.  Adults enjoy the wide range of dining options, the numerous bars, the on-site golf course, the "Adults only" pool, the magnificent, secluded "Chi" Spa and the air-conditioned Health Club with its range of fitness machines where you exercise while taking in the panoramic view of the ocean. As you can imagine, exercising in such an environment is a most enjoyable experience. Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji offers a huge range of watersports options too.

This is a big resort by Fijian standards with 443 rooms, a huge number of resort facilities and terrific beaches spread over a wide area. This means that even when it's heavily booked, there are still secluded spots for those seeking peace and solitude. The way "The Fijian" (as it's commonly known) has developed its kids' facilities, means that it's a really great spot for family holidays. Of all the range of activities and facilities available, we are particularly impressed with the facilities for kids; from the dedicated kids club and playground to the “kids' eat free” program (meals are taken in the designated all day dining restaurant). Your Room, Bure & Suite Options
Imagine a large seabird standing facing the sea holding its wings out to dry and you start to get the idea of how the resort is laid out. The body of the bird is the central facility which includes the restaurants, bars, conference facilities etc. The left wing of the bird forms the Ocean and Reef Wings of the resort and the right wing of our imaginary bird is the Yanuca Lagoon Wing of the resort. The Yanuca Lagoon Wing (comprising 5, three-level blocks) is so named because all the rooms have a view of the quiet Yanuca Lagoon inlet with the hills of the mainland beyond, naturally, the higher rooms have wider views. The rooms in the Ocean Wing have beautiful views of the ocean and reef from their patios or balconies. The Reef Wing blocks are the adults-only area.

This is a big Resort and distances between rooms and some facilities can sometimes be an issue for guests who may have limited mobility. In general, the three level Yanuca Lagoon Wing blocks are handier to the “Little Chiefs” Kids Club and the Lagoon Pool while the Ocean Wing blocks are closer to the Golf Bure and The Spa. The 6 Ocean Wing Wing blocks spread out along the coast between the Golden Cowrie Restaurant and the tennis courts, while the Adults-only Reef Wings are furthest away from the central core of the resort but very handy to both the tennis courts and the Golf Shop. All rooms are a good size although Ocean Wing and Reef Wing rooms are generally slightly bigger than the rooms in the Yanuca Lagoon blocks.

There is a wide range of different accommodation types and maximum allowable room occupancy policies. Please note that a baby in a cot is counted as 1 child when calculating room maximums.

Room Categories
 Yanuca Lagoon Deluxe: 
Located in the Lagoon Wing, the Yanuca Lagoon Deluxe category rooms are located on the first and second floors of the 5 Yanuca Lagoon Wings. Please note that no rooms in this category are located on the ground floor. Rooms are 32m² in size.    
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed, 1 Sofa Bed and 1 Trundle Bed (for a child aged up to 6 years)
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  A Trundle Bed is 150cm long by 61cm wide.
Additional Bedding: A baby cot may be substituted for the Trundle Bed.

 Ocean Deluxe King:
 Ocean Deluxe Twin:
These rooms are 36m² in size and located in the Ocean Wing handy to the Ocean Pool and Takali Asian Kitchen. Interconnecting room facility available. 
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding Ocean Deluxe King: 1 King Bed and a pull-out Sofa Bed
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  
Additional Bedding: A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.
Existing Bedding Ocean Deluxe Twin: 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Yanuca Lagoon Terrace:
These rooms are 32m² in size and located in the Yanuca Lagoon Wing. Yanuca Lagoon Terrace rooms are all located on the ground floor - all have direct access to the expansive lagoon-side lawn, are handy to the Lagoon Pool and the beach and come at a small premium charge over the same-standard Yanuca Lagoon Deluxe Rooms located on the 2 floors above.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed and 1 Double Bed-size fold-out Sofa Bed and 1 Trundle Bed (for a child aged up to 6 years)
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  A Trundle Bed is 150cm long by 61cm wide.

 Ocean Terrace:
36m² in size, located on the ground floor of the Ocean Wing handy to the Coral Pool, Café Coral and the Golf and Gym Bures. Interconnecting facility available.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed and a pull-out Sofa Bed or 2 Double Beds.
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  
Additional Bedding: A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Yanuca Lagoon Grand Deluxe:
Located on the ground floor of 3 of the 5 Lagoon Wing Blocks and 37m² in size. Yanuca Lagoon Grand Deluxe rooms are bigger than the regular Lagoon Rooms and have space for a Sofa Bed and a Trundle Bed as well as the King Bed.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 2 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed, 1 Sofa Bed and 1 Trundle Bed (for a child aged up to 6 years).
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  A Trundle Bed is 150cm long by 61cm wide.
Additional Bedding: A Rollaway Single Bed may be substituted for the Trundle Bed.
A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Ocean Grand Deluxe:
Located in the Ocean Wing and a very good size for a family at 43m². 
Interconnecting room facility available.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults or 2 Adults & 3 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed and 2 Divan Beds
Additional Bedding: On request, 1 additional Single Bed can be added for a 3rd child. A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Reef Deluxe King:
Adults-only accommodation and very centrally located in the Reef Wing blocks, exceptionally handy to the resort’s restaurants etc. and a good size at 36m². 
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: On request, a Single Bed may be added for a 3rd adult.

 Reef Deluxe Twin:
Adults-only accommodation and very centrally located in the Reef Wing blocks, exceptionally handy to the Reef Pool etc. and a good size at 36m². 
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults
Existing Bedding 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated

 Reef Grand Deluxe:
Spacious rooms at 43m². Beautifully located in the Adults-Only Reef Wing.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: On request, a Single Bed may be added for a 3rd adult.

 Yanuca Lagoon Suites:
(One-bedroom accommodation) 
67m² in size, located in the Yanuca Lagoon Wing, these Suites have a separate bedroom and separate living room. Of the 6 Suites, 2 are located on the ground floor and 4 are located on the first floor.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults & 3 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in the bedroom and 2 Sofa Beds
Sofa Bed size is 182cm long by 134cm wide.  
Additional Bedding: On request, 1 Single Bed may be added. A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

 Reef Suites:
(One bedroom accommodation)
67m² in size, located in the central Adults-Only Reef Wing, these Suites have a separate bedroom and separate living room.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: On request, a Single Bed may be added for a 3rd adult.

 Reef Bures:
(One bedroom adults-only accommodation)
Inspired by traditional Fijian beach bungalows, at 136m² in area, the six Reef Bures offer exceptionally spacious accommodation. Located between the exclusive Chi Spa Village and the Wedding Chapel. Set right on the water’s edge for sweeping views of lagoon, reef and Pacific Ocean, these luxury one-bedroom bures are for couples only, and comprise one bedroom and separate living/dining areas.

Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated

 Yanuca Lagoon Bures:
The Yanuca Lagoon One Bedroom Bure:
53m² and inspired by traditional Fijian design, this stand-alone Bure is located on the water's edge with views of the resort's lagoon and the Pacific Ocean.  Complete with a sitting room, dining area, separate bedroom and an outdoor terrace with daybeds and a dining table.
Adults staying in the Yanuca Lagoon One Bedroom Bure receive full access to the adults-only Reef Wing precinct and benefits, including the daily sunset cocktail hour.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults and 2 children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: 1 pull-out Sofa Bed may be used for up to 2 children aged under 12 years.

Yanuca Lagoon Two Bedroom Bures:
Four beautiful Fijian Chiefly-style Bures with high, vaulted-ceilings located in a quiet area, right on the beach overlooking Yanuca Lagoon. Yanuca Lagoon Bures are 106m² in size and have 2 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as well as a separate dining/living area. The main bathroom has a bath and shower, the second bathroom has a shower only.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 Adults or 2 Adults & 4 Children aged under 12 years.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in one bedroom & 2 Double Beds in the second bedroom.
Additional Bedding: A baby cot can be added subject to room maximum occupancy policy.

Getting to and from Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji
We will provide a coach or private car arrival/departure transfer from/to Nadi International Airport to The Fijian as required/agreed in package arrangements.

An option is a helicopter transfer to and from Nadi International Airport & selected resorts (including islands).

Families & Kids
 Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji is known and loved for family holidays.  There is a massive kids program, but due to the size of this resort and the new “adults-only” facilities (adults-only Reef Wing, swimming pool, breakfast restaurant etc), those guests who are not travelling with children are extremely well catered for and can also thoroughly enjoy a relaxing holiday at this resort.

Up to 2 children aged up to 11 years stay free when sharing a room with their parents or supervising adults and utilise existing bedding. Up to 3 children aged up to 11 years stay free in Ocean Grand Deluxe Rooms and Yanuca Lagoon Suites.
Up to 4 children aged up to 11 years stay free in Yanuca Lagoon Bures.
Buffet breakfast is included in the room tariff for all children aged under 12 years and under sharing a room with parents/adults and sunject to room maximum occupancy policies for individual room types.
 

Up to 2 children aged up to 11 years eat breakfast, lunch and dinner free from the Children’s Menus in the resort’s designated “kids eat free” restaurants. 
Conditions
 - Children dine free only when accompanied by a 
   paying adult dining with them.
 - Valid when dining from designated children’s menus
   at the designated “Kids Eat Free” restaurants. 
 - No child discounts are offered for a la carte dining.


 Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji offers a huge range of complimentary facilities and activities for children in the “Little Chiefs Club” which is available for children aged up to and including 11 years.  Children aged under 4 years are welcome if accompanied by a parent or babysitter. The Little Chiefs Club is usually divided into 2 programs – one for 4 to 8-year-olds and one for 9 to 11-year-olds.

Our experience is that Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji tends to stick to these times. 
Early Check-in Policy.
Kindly note that the hotel will not entertain an early check-in unless at least 24 hours-notice is given that an early check-in is required. Availability of an early check-in is subject to availability on guests’ arrival day.
To guarantee an early check-in accommodation should be booked for the night prior to guest arrival.
Late Check-out Policy.
A late check-out up to 6:00pm, when available, is charged at 50% of the tariff of the room occupied.
Note, this facility is not available for stays of 1 night.
A check-out after 6:00pm is charged at full nightly rate.
