Castaway is reminiscent of a traditional Fijian village, nestled amongst lush tropical gardens with individual thatched roofed “bure” accommodation. Traditional high vaulted, hand painted “tapa” lined ceilings enhance the Fijian experience. Island, Ocean View or Beach bures each feature one king size bed and most include two additional single beds in their configuration, with those bures comfortably sleeping up to four persons. The Family Beach bure sleeps up to ten persons. All bures are spacious, air-conditioned, feature quality inclusions and maintain that welcoming –island ambience, synonymous with Castaway.
All day dining by the water’s edge with menus created to offer a selection of delicious alternatives including gourmet wood fired pizzas in the Sundowner bar, are all well suited to the tropical environment. At night a canopy of stars, a balmy breeze and the melodies of the “Castaway Islanders” provide a perfect accompaniment to outstanding Pacific island cuisine.
Castaway offers water sports for everyone and every age; snorkelling the island’s spectacular fringing coral reefs, windsurfing, parasailing, catamaran sailing or waterskiing on the crystal clear lagoon. Island hop by speed boat with a champagne picnic, take a dolphin safari, play tennis on a champion ship sized court or simply relax in a hammock under the swaying palms.

Our thoughts on Castaway Island, Fiji
Castaway island is well known for great staff and perfect surroundings but it's the way Castaway handles the mingling of families and all the other guests that make it so special. The secret to this success lies in the complimentary Kids' Club which is open 9.00am to 9.00pm, the very accessible and reasonably priced babysitting services and the early supervised evening dining for children. The kids love it because they play and interact with other children, their parents love it because their children are so obviously enjoying themselves and are in safe hands and all other guests love it too!
Since March 2011, Castaway Island has added and upgraded many facilities. All the Bures have the bathrooms replaced with lovely modern, fresh bathrooms, a new “live” cooking station has been added to the breakfast buffet – just love those island-style omelets and eggs cooked every which way, A brand new 20 metre graduated depth fresh water swimming pool complete with cascading water features known as Nuku Marau has been added for families (the kids love it) and, by March 2012 the existing 25 metre pool will be totally refreshed, deepened and improved and the Lilly Pond Bar landscaped to provide a “quiet pool” mainly for adult use. As we’ve said so often – Castaway Island handle their mixture of families and couples/singles so well.
Can’t relax until emails are attended to? Castaway Island now provides a free Wifi hotspot at the Lali Bar.
The food at Castaway is also a feature that guests positively comment on. The Water's Edge Restaurant and the Sundowner Pizza Bar are both spectacular locations for dining, both day and night, and you’ll love the new Nuku Marau Bar & Grill which does lovely lunches and snacks throughout the day
And then there's the traditional Fiji massage in the Lomani and Demeni Bures. Our advice is to book your massage as soon as you arrive because to delay is to miss out!
Your Room Options
All the accommodation at Castaway Island, Fiji is in stand-alone Fiji-style Bures. With the exception of the Family Beach Bure, all have the same layout and facilities; it's their position in the resort that gives them their various categories. On Castaway, none of the Bures are very far away from the beach or the restaurants etc. Air-conditioning is a standard feature.
In all rooms the King bed is screened off by a floor to ceiling divider. There is 1 modern bathroom which has a separate shower and a separate toilet. All have vaulted tapa lined ceilings and traditional-style grass-thatched roofs.

Castaway Five Package
The Castaway Five Package gives a family the opportunity to add a third single bed or cot to any bure type, but is subject to resort availability to ensure the right balance of families and couples is maintained.
Purchase the Castaway Five Package for a minimum of 5 persons for 5 nights and receive the following bonuses (valued at over $300 per family!):
- Five rides on the banana boat (1 per person)
- Five hours babysitting
- Five gourmet wood fired pizzas
Castaway Five Package is available in all Island, Ocean View & Beach Bures by adding a single bed to the room for a Maximum Occupancy of 5 Persons per Bure.

Combining two Beach Bures with an interconnecting room to form 3 separate bedrooms.
Please note there is only 1 Family Beach Bure at Castaway Island, Fiji so you must book this very early!

Meal Plans
Great value meal plans are available to pre-book. Meal plans cover full run of menu and include theme buffets. Meal Plan for children aged 5-12 are at half the adult price. Children aged under 5 years eat free.
Super Special Meal Plan Offer
For the period 01 November 2012 through 31 March 2013 (excluding 20th December 2012 to 13th January 2013, purchase the equivalent of 2.5 days meal plan then eat free for the remainder of your stay at Castaway Island. This is available to adults and children. Note this super special may not be available for guests booked on accommodation specials.
Getting to and from Castaway Island, Fiji
Transfer from Nadi International Airport to Port Denarau Marina or Vuda Point Marina by coach or private vehicle to connect to your boat transfer.
South Sea Cruises high-speed catamaran from Port Denarau Marina. This service operates 3 times daily. An upgrade to the Captains Lounge (extra cost) provides selected beverages and snacks during the crossing whilst enjoying the comfort of air-conditioning. Approximately a 90 minute trip.
Amphibious float planes from Nadi International Airport or other island locations take approximately 10 minutes from the Airport, landing on the sea at Castaway Island, Fiji before pulling up to the beach.
Island Hoppers helicopter transfer to and from Nadi International Airport & selected resorts.
Kids Policy
Island, Ocean View and Beach bures comfortably accommodate four (4) persons - adults and/or children of any age. Infants are to be included in the total number of persons per bure. However, a limited number of bures in all categories may have an additional single bed added for families utilizing the Castaway Five Package.
Children under 5 years of age eat free.
Supervised Children’s dinner hour 5.00 – 6.30pm daily
Kid’s Club. One of the best Kids’ Clubs in Fiji. For children aged 3-12 years operates daily from 9.00am to 9.00pm.

The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in; however, the Hotel standard times and rates are as follows:

Early check in subject to availability on the day of arrival. Complimentary use of the hospitality bure with bathroom and changing facilities is offered on request and is subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing.
Bookings cancelled between 21 days and 7 days from arrival date will be charged one nights cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled within 7 days from arrival date will be charged 100% of total stay.
