MAY 2014

Hi Briar,

Raffles
Very handy location for arriving and leaving. Being so close to the airport it is quite noisy and our air conditioner was very loud in our first room. We were upgraded to an executive room both times - overlooking the pool - which was very nice. The big pool is great and the slide is fun.
Food was ok.
Lovely staff especially the front desk who were super helpful.

Plantation
Having been to Fiji previously we are used to island time. But, we still found Plantation a bit disorganized and they seemed to struggle the first night we were there when the resort was full. We were disappointed to discover, on our last day, that the resort food and beverage credit didn't cover the Coco hut cafe and this hadn't been explained to us even when I had spoken to reception about what was covered.
Plantation is bigger than the other resorts we have been to and we found you don't get to know staff like you do at the smaller resorts. The saltwater pool is great for kids and we spent a lot of time there. Overall the grounds are nice and generally well kept but they could do with more hammocks.
Food is okay, but the kids buffet is almost the same every night.
Our garden bure was nice and it was great having both air conditioning and ceiling fans. It backed onto a beach front bure but still had a peek of the water from the porch and was surrounded by low planting so it felt quite private.
Some nights there was quite loud music coming from the main bar but it did stop at a reasonable time.

Overall it was a good reasonable priced fun family holiday location.

Regards,
Tammy
